  1. http://www.tauntr.com/content/phillies-assassin-liscence-tase Omg....LOL.
  2. I really don't see the Mariners getting a better offer. This offer (if true) is basically everything they need. The Yankees and Twins (and maybe Rangers) seemed like the only legitimate possibilities, due to strong catching prospects. This has nothing to do with the Yankees having "money" or whatever.
  3. So, a half-season of Lee is going to grab the Mariners Jesus Montero ++. For a full season of Lee, all Ruben Amaro was able to pick up were 3 guys who will probably never play for the Phillies. But oh wait, he was able to "replenish the farm" so it's all good. Good god.
  4. Brian Schneider hits a walk-off homerun, Nelson Figueroa gets the win, Wilson Valdez hits a huge triple in the 8th inning. See a theme, Fish?
  5. Love it. That is all kinds of awesome. The Cavaliers are now my 2nd favorite team (well, maybe).
  6. The Phillies are 2-0 on this homestand in games I have not attended....
  7. Hey Phillippe Aumont had 13 strikeouts in 6 innings tonight. Maybe the Lee trade wasn't so bad afterall....
  8. How long until all the "lifelong Miami Heat" fans emerge?

LOL...what do you mean, I've always known you were a Heat fan

  9. Tom McCarthy. Tell the Mets to take him back....please.
  10. Poor Johnny Cueto. Got nailed in the balls.
  11. That might wind up being the best option. Can't risk [expletive]ing a Werth trade up as badly as it appears Ruben [expletive]ed up the Lee trade.
  12. Well, they wouldn't get nothing if he left in free agency. They'd get (in all likelihood) a low first round pick, and a "sandwich" round pick. But if they put him up for trade, he is easily the most coveted hitter come deadline time. Not to mention, it clears the way for Domonic Brown to finally get to the Majors (.332/.398/.622 in AA and AAA so far this season. The other guys who are hardcore into baseball can verify...he is ready). I dunno, even if they get swept this weekend they will still be relatively close to the wild card and probably even the division, so I don't know if Amaro will throw in the towel and look to trade Werth. We'll see.
  13. Original. But in response to this thread, he goes down as the biggest piece of [expletive] in professional sports history, if he puts on this whole charade with ESPN tomorrow night, putting Cavaliers fans through torture, only to say he is leaving. And he has the nerve to play it off as "for charity". Give me a break. Unbelievably low.
  14. I guess all he needed was 3 games against the Phillies. On a Phillies note...time to consider trading Jayson Werth, especially if they get buried even further this weekend.
  15. Because he OPS'd 600 points higher against the Phillies last year than his season total (and in 50 plate appearances, not a small sample size). Up to his old tricks again this week too.
  16. Have I mentioned how much I [expletive]ing hate Matt Diaz?
  17. This season gets more and more disappointing by the day. At least it wasn't 104 degrees tonight...

  19. Yep. Well, he says he will root for them against the Eagles at least.
  20. If any of you have talked to "Diesel" recently, you probably know that the [expletive] is a Redskins fan now! . I am sure there are plenty others who jumped off the bandwagon with him. Makes me want to see Kolb succeed even more.
  21. If this is true, I'd say Gagne is 100% on the way out. Which means I will withhold any judgement on this for the time being. First have to see what Zherdev's contract is, how the Gagne situation resolves itself, and how the Flyers use their newfound cap space (assuming there is some).
  22. There is a report in Russia that the Flyers have signed Nikolai Zherdev.
  23. Evgeni Nabokov is going to the KHL.
