First of all, the game is on NBC. Second of all, give that joke up already. It failed the first time, certainly is failing now.
-
You basically nailed it. Also, it gives the organizations a chance to stick the players in half-season rookie ball leagues. They don't waste any time.

Pretty annoying. The first period was brutal. Michael Leighton was really bad and Chris Pronger played his worst period of the postseason. The nail was in the coffin before the 2nd period even started. But what was more annoying than the actual game was now pro-Chicago the broadcast was. They didn't even really attempt to hide it. But I guess that's to be expected when a decent amount of the talking is done by Ed Olczyk. Like...really? It is hard to take them seriously when Olczyk is pointing out every minor cross check or hold that could have possibly been a penalty against the Flyers, and saying "oh wow Doc the Flyers really got away with that one", but not saying a word when Danny Briere gets his face ripped open by a high stick, or when Chris Pronger goes to the box for a really weak hook. And don't get me started on the pure idiocy of Milbury and Roenick (loved JR as a player, but he is a hack broadcaster). Blah. Not over, at least.

Brandon Workman is projected to be a mid-first round pick. Kind of depressing, since he was a Phillies 3rd round pick a few years ago and they could not reach an agreement.
-
Figured this could probably use it's own thread, not sure how many people will be interested though. Starts tomorrow night!! Anywho, most of the first round is still up in the air. Pretty clear that Washington will draft Bryce Harper, the Royals have apparently already reached a deal with Yasmani Grandal who they will draft 4th, and the Pirates have said they will probably take either Manny Machado or Jameson Taillon at 2. Other than that, who knows. For the Phillies, they are apparently going to take the best player available in the first round, and then focus on catcher, middle infield, and left handed pitching in the next few rounds.
-
Definitely worthy of it's own thread.

Hmm, wonder if Jon Garland is complaining about Citizens Bank Park being a "joke ballpark" today, seeing as these "joke dimensions" just gave his team a win. Yeah, you see Jon, it goes both ways... Also, I am wondering if Chase Utley is injured. I generally think it is lame to automatically assume injury when a guy is slumping, but something is very very wrong with him right now.
-
Well, it is, but the White Sox don't have the national presence that a few other AL teams do (I don't think I need to mention which teams I am talking about ).
-
It's a popularity contest, dude. Big markets = big vote totals. Unfortunately that's just how it is.
-
It's official, Mike Stanton will be making his debut on Tuesday.
-
I think it was more Tony Gwynn making a dumb decision, but it was definitely encouraging seeing Ryan have the confidence to make a good throw across the diamond.

Agree with everything, except Wright should not be in the same discussion as Zimmerman. I am surprised you didn't mention Wright having a superior OPS to Polanco for your argument there. But if you want to talk about crazy OPS's, check out Zimmerman. Of all the positions, I actually think that is one of the easiest positions to pick for this year. But a lot can change in the next few weeks...
-
Wow, the Phillies turned a 5-3-5 double play. Don't see that every day...
-
Says the guy who probably voted Reyes, Beltran, and Delgado last season. And Polanco over Wright is really not that laughable, FYI. Should definitely be Casey McGehee over either of them though, and Ryan Zimmerman over any of those 3.

Better record is far more fair than the league that wins the All Star game.
-
I am not a fan of the All Star Game counting for World Series home field advantage, but yes, it does make the games more interesting and exciting. I do enjoy the All Star week festivities, and of course the actual game, but the fan voting process is very flawed (as it is in every sport).
-
Took you this long to realize that?
-
Phillippe Aumont was demoted to A today. He has been horrendously bad in AA. 1-6, 7.43 ERA, 38 SO/38 BB ( :o ).
-
Yeah. And Mike Stanton will make his debut for the Marlins on Tuesday, in all likelihood. Pretty big week for top prospects.

Tonight is the key game of the series. If the Flyers can come home for game 6 with a chance to win the Stanley Cup, I can't even imagine how wild the city is going to be.
-
Time for the Timonen/Coburn pairing to step it up even more (well, they have been pretty awesome so far, but will need to be even more awesome the rest of this series). The Kane-Toews-Byfuglien line is being split up for the sole purpose of keeping one of Kane/Toews away from Pronger at all times. So, it should be interesting to see how that goes. I'm guessing same lineup tonight, but we won't know for sure until later. JVR looked very strong in game 4 so I am guessing he stays in.
-
The bats live!! And Jamie Moyer gets his 100th win after turning 40. Pretty incredible. Complete game too. His 2nd complete game of the year, as a 47 year old.
-
Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals is on Wednesday, so I sold my Phillies-Marlins tickets for that night. I may come to regret that decision (although I doubt it). It looks as if it will be Roy Halladay vs. Josh Johnson, and Mike Stanton will be playing in his 2nd MLB game.

Lulz, what an ironic poster. Nice grammar.
