  1. Pronger is very dirty (and I love him that way! ), but the Canadiens were taking way too many liberties at the end of last night's game for a game that they completely dominated. Luckily Dan Carcillo was not on the ice at the end of the game or he would have gotten himself suspended for sure.
  2. Yeah. If they can leave Montreal with a 3-1 lead, all will be well. Luckily, I don't think I can remember Chris Pronger having back to back bad games, and he was AWFUL tonight. So he should come out on a mission in game 4 (I hope).
  3. Well tonight was not a must win, but I would have liked to see a better effort than that. Pretty much everyone except Michael Leighton was terrible. Also I know the Flyers are known as the dirtiest team in the league but the way the Canadiens gooned it up at the end of a game they were dominating was pretty awful. Also, classy coaching to have the top power play unit on the ice on a 5-on-3 the end of the game.
  4. Definitely not a "must win" tonight, but it would sure be nice.
  5. Smitty, your damned avatar freezes up my computer EVERY time.
  6. I think the prospect of having Evan Turner on this roster is greater than any possible (realistic) trade package.
  7. Such a [expletive]in annoying game. Not saying the Phillies played particularly well, but every ball the Phillies hit hard, a Cub made a ridiculous play or it was right at someone, and the Cubs scored their runs on some of the cheapest hits I have ever seen. By far the most frustrating game of the season.
  8. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g96/philsphan1210/6a00d83451af4b69e2013481231f06970c-.jpg I am not going to lie, that might be the coolest picture I have seen in a long time. Also, my friend took this video of one of the "Ole" chants at the game. Kind of funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_WDOHBqwSE&feature=player_embedded
  9. They are negotiating with Doug Collins. Looks like he will be the guy.
  10. I do not understand the people complaining about the past two episodes. Like, really, what the hell are people expecting to see? They are getting tons of answers.
  11. It did a great job setting up for Sunday, I thought.
  12. Blah. Roy Halladay pitches a complete game but gets the L. Matchups for Cubs series: Tomorrow: Tom Gorzelanny vs. Jamie Moyer Thursday: Ryan Dempster vs. Joe Blanton
  13. So weird seeing a goalie steal a game for the Flyers. So so weird. I was at a sports bar watching with Fly3rs and co., so it was kind of difficult to watch closely, but based on what I saw and what I am reading now, the Flyers need to be better in game 3.
  14. Just like the Mariners are going to "win the AL West easily (with or without Cliff Lee)"?
  15. I wonder if the Carolina Hurricanes are enjoying this, 5-ish months after placing Michael Leighton on waivers. Granted, they have Cam Ward, but still. Also, I hope Hal Gill enjoyed that nice dose of karma served to him by Danny Briere.
  16. Hell yes. Save for a Phillies loss to the Pirates, this was an amazing night. Flyers go up 2-0, Sixers get the #2 pick...not too bad.
  17. Tonight's shirts. Awesome. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g96/philsphan1210/102382126.jpg
  18. Ian Laperriere will be back by game 4 apparently. No official word on Jeff Carter as of now.
  19. It would be exactly the same deal here if a Philadelphia athlete did that. I can understand why they were upset. Some professional athletes just lack any ounce of common sense.
  20. I don't know about the first part of your statement. Every time an incident comes up here (like the 2 we've had already at Phillies games this year), ESPN starts trashing Philadelphia, and those of us fans who are sick of that reputation start defending it. I agree with you from the 2nd sentence on. Really, every city has idiots, and in cities that are passionate about sports, stupid, unnecessary [expletive] will happen at games. But anywho, I digress. About Jeff Carter....I would not bring him back as long as the team keeps winning. If Montreal takes the lead in the series, I'd bring him back. Otherwise, hold off until the finals. No reason to A) [expletive] with the team chemistry, or B) put him out there at 60 or 70%. Wait til he's fully healthy. Only reason to rush him back is if they lose a couple games in a row.
  21. ECN is right that Philadelphia fans get trashed because of this long-standing reputation. But yes, anybody who has been to games in multiple cities knows that it's no different in New York, Boston, Chicago, and in the case of the NHL, Montreal (probably missing a handful). Also (and this is just a random observation, has nothing to do with anything that happened at the game last night and is not condoning the behavior of any Flyers fans), Canadiens fans BY FAR start more [expletive] than any other visiting fans I have seen at Flyers games. Isn't even close.
  22. He was awesome. The Holy Diver video is one of my favorites. RIP.
  23. Wow, 10 year deal for Nicklas Backstrom. $67 million.
  24. Jeff Carter will be back within a game or 2. Wow.
