What a great day. Flyers win, Phillies finish sweep of Brewers. Also, word is that Jimmy Rollins will be activated from the DL tomorrow. Matchups for Pirates series: Tomorrow: Charlie Morton vs. Kyle Kendrick Tuesday: Zach Duke vs. Roy Halladay

It is not really Joe Buck's job to analyze what's happening on the field. -

Unfortunately that is the only reason he has his job. Seems like the only qualifications for being an analyst these days are a decent former playing career and a slightly soothing voice. -

Joe Morgan is bar none the worst analyst I have ever heard, in any sport. -

He has a future on TV for sure. Hell, can he just replace Joe Morgan on Sunday Night Baseball now? -
I am laughing at the idea of you potentially starting [expletive] with Bruins fans . But in fairness, I can't imagine Flyers fans would have been too happy if they were the ones who blew a 3-0 series lead, and a 3-0 lead in game 7 at home. But I agree, every passionate sports city has nut jobs.

Jesus....save some goals for game 2.

Jimmy Rollins will probably be activated tomorrow night.

Ian Laperriere skated this morning. Said he feels good but he won't be cleared to play until he has another MRI next week. I hope he doesn't come back unless he is 110% sure that he is fine. One more shot to the head and it could kill him.
-
He has not watched a minute of it.

I have a feeling Mr. Gill may have a quote or 2 appear on the big screen before game 1. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2010/05/15/habs-flyers-0/

At least you spelled 3 of your favorite hockey player's names right

This still has not sunk in yet. The comeback, or the fact that it is a 7-8 matchup in the conference finals. Holy hell.
-
So....the Flyers have home ice in the conference finals....as a [expletive]in 7 seed. Gotta love the NHL playoffs. 1-2 in the West, 7-8 in the East.
-
Yeah. Coming back from 3-0 today is what makes it even more ridiculous, considering how good the Bruins are defensively.
-
Greatest comeback in sports history? It is sure as hell up there.

No.....mother.....[expletive]ing.....way

I am not sure where you got that "yell at the batter what pitch is coming" thing out of my post. If you want to discuss this, at least read my posts and don't accuse me of saying things that I did not say. But, there is a reason pitchers and catchers change signs so frequently throughout the game. A smart player can figure out what the other team's signs are very quickly.
-
Not sure what exactly they were playing but they have been hinting at the whole "black vs. white/dark vs. evil" thing from the very beginning. I can't wait to re-watch every episode this summer after knowing the conclusion. Guaranteed there are subtle references all throughout the series. But yeah, it is getting very mystical.

But with that said, "stealing signs" is not the issue, it's the fact that he had binoculars out. Using an instrument other than your own eyes to steal signs is what is unethical. As I posted above, I see no way this plan the Rockies laid out could have worked. I am sure the Phillies were stealing signs in that game...every time they got a runner on 2nd base. Just as every other Major League team does. The fact that the Rockies are crying about some farfetched scheme that is just purely ridiculous and had no chance of being a working plan...that's the interesting part.
-
If "it" happened to the Phillies, I'd actually use my head and realize that the allegations the Rockies made are ridiculous. Why don't you use your head now? Tell me how it's possible for a bullpen coach to use binoculars from 400 feet away, see the sign, tell another guy in the bullpen what the pitch is, who would relay that via the bullpen phone to the dugout, where somebody else would make a signal to the batter...all in the 1-1.5 seconds (or less) between the time the sign is laid down and the pitcher goes into his delivery. If you can come up with some logical way for this to happen, I might take you a bit more seriously. And just an FYI, Victorino was on the phone to tell Billmeyer to put the binoculars away because the umpire told him to make the call. Again, the binoculars were away after the 1st inning and the Phillies managed 9 runs from that point forward. So if they did have some farfetched scheme that was actually working for stealing signs, it's not like it made much of a difference when they stopped. But really, I'd like to hear your explanation for how it could have worked. Go on....
-
Yeah I agree. Lots of people hating on this episode. I thought they explained a lot. Still a ton more to cover, but in 3.5 hours I think they can do it. We will see. Anyway, lets just enjoy the final episodes of this. I for one will be sad when it's gone.

Top two stories on ESPN.com are NHL related. When the hell does that happen?? http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g96/philsphan1210/Picture2-2.png
