  1. Not bragging about the Phillies, they have mostly been garbage for the past week. Just pointing out that being 2.5 games behind a team struggling as badly as the Phillies is not really something the Mets should be proud of. And if you want to rip on the Phillies for beating up on poor competition, that's fine, but it isn't like the Mets have been overly successful against the "non playoff teams" you referenced. And you're really one to complain about rude snotty comments..... But back on topic....Doc Halladay...he's pretty good. Placido Polanco hurt his elbow though....
  2. Where do you see bragging? I am just questioning why you are so happy about being 2.5 games out of first place in mid April, when the team you are chasing is coming off 4 losses in 5 games. That is terrible.
  3. Wow, the Cubs are moving Carlos Zambrano to the bullpen to be their setup man.
  4. If the Mets wouldn't have lost 2 of 3 to the Washington Nationals, you might have an argument.
  5. [expletive], news just keeps getting better... Simon Gagne will be out for at least 3 weeks, and Jeff Carter is probably out for the remainder of the playoffs.
  6. Great...Carter and Gagne both out tomorrow night.
  7. Yeah, it's pretty funny that the Phillies can lose 4 out of 5 in mid April and still be 2.5 up on the Mets.
  8. Sharks and Avalanche went to OT for the third straight game. Joe Pavelski wins it.
  9. Fractured toe for Gagne. Who knows if he'll be able to go on Thursday. Carter should be fine. Phew
  10. Yeah. I'd be lying if I were to say I am an Ernie Sims expert. Even if he does have as many question marks as people in here are saying, for that low of a pick I can't really complain...
  11. Hmm, so, Troy Glaus proved that he could not touch Ryan Madson's slider. So what does Ryan Madson decide to throw 1-1? Oh, of course, a juicy fastball right down the middle of the plate. Makes perfect sense. Oh well, at least the Flyers won tonight to make this bearable. We need Brad Lidge back...
  12. Carter and Gagne are hurt pretty bad apparently. [expletive]. John Boruk
  13. I must say, I am thoroughly impressed that a New York Giants fan is going to such great lengths to defend a Philadelphia Eagle.
  14. The Eagles gave the 137th pick.
  15. Happ was scheduled to go but his start is being skipped because he has a forearm strain.
  16. JA Happ is not pitching this series. Roy Halladay on Wednesday and Jamie Moyer on Thursday.
  17. The Flyers dominated the 3rd period and OT. It was the best 20+ minutes of hockey this team has played in months.
  18. Actually I lied. After thinking about it, I have seen two incidents (that I can remember). The one time a Philadelphia fan did something completely unprovoked (at least I think it was unprovoked) was at a Flyers playoff game 2 years ago, when a Washington Capitals fan got pissed on in the bathroom. That was just disgusting and uncalled for. I also saw a pretty big fight at a Phillies-Mets game, but it was actually started by a Mets fan who called everyone in the section a [expletive] and then took the first swing (I believe there is video evidence of this somewhere). Other than that, I really have not seen anything at a game that lives up to that "Philadelphia reputation". I attend 20+ Phillies games a year, 10+ Flyers games, 10+ Sixers games, and 1 or 2 Eagles games if I am lucky. So I spend a lot of time down there. It really is no different than any other passionate sports city. I have seen fans of opposing teams have [expletive] talked at them, but usually it is in a non-serious manner. The only times they will legitimately be threatened is if they are obnoxious and talk serious [expletive] themselves.
  19. Is he as sexy as David Wright?
  20. This is a good game. Pretty much every series has been incredibly competitive and fun to watch. This is why the NHL has far and away the best postseason.
  21. Brodeur was [expletive]in incredible too. If he is out of the equation, Flyers win by 3 or 4 goals.
  22. Wow....Ilya Kovalchuk had 0 shots on goal tonight. And they had EIGHT power plays.
