Well, separating them would really be the only point of realigning. So if they aren't separated, I don't think any realignment will happen. But I am personally happy with it as it is. I like having 16 teams in one league and 14 in the other, which means teams only play teams in their own league except for during the interleague period. If there are 15 in each, that means at least one NL team will have to be playing an AL team at all points of the season, which would also mean that both leagues would probably have to have the same rules as far as DHs/pitchers hitting. So, as far as those aspects, I like things as they are set up now. But then again, I'm not an Orioles or Jays fan, haha. I am sure they would kill for the East to get split up.

Haha, that would actually be the main purpose, to help out them and the Orioles.

http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/rosenthal-realignment-proposal-022510 To summarize, Ken Rosenthal seems to think that when Major League Baseball gets a new CBA in 2011, Bud Selig will push hard for divisional realignment, and perhaps even something more radical, completely realigning the leagues. Rosenthal thinks the main focus would be to split up the Yankees and Red Sox, to help with competitive balance. They may also take a team from the NL Central and put them in the AL West, which would even things at 15 teams per league. That would also mean that there would be at least one interleague series going on at all times, which will likely mean either completely abolishing the designated hitter, or forcing National League teams to add it. Anyway, Rosenthal proposes a few possible ideas. It does sound a bit ridiculous to mess with the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry by putting them in different divisions, but it honestly does make a bit of sense. And it's not like Major League Baseball will suffer as a result. People will still go to the games and watch games on TV, nothing will change, there will just be fans complaining about Bud Selig [expletive]ing with baseball lore. I am really not sure how I feel about this, but at least it makes for good conversation!

Philadelphia @ L.A. Lakers

I know that +/- is relatively insignificant in basketball, but when you have the worst +/- on the team pretty much every game, it starts to become significant, to me anyway. To no surprise, Lou Williams led the way with a -11 last night. -
Halladay vs. Sabathia on Thursday.

It is going to be very tough indeed, but definitely can be done. Canada has not impressed me at all this entire tournament, with the exception of the Russia game. And every single ounce of pressure will be on them. USA can definitely do it, especially with Ryan Miller in there.

Sixers played pretty well. Coincidence that they played their worst when Lou Williams was on the floor? Coincidence that this happens pretty much every game? -

This kind of reminds me of the game in Philadelphia from a few weeks ago. I am just waiting for Eddie to do something to [expletive] this up, as he did that night. So far so good, though. -
I'm in too many as it is Or else I would...

Hopefully Lou Williams isn't as blazed tonight as he was during his video chat last night. -
Finland just gave up, as Pierre McGuire said. Pretty strange to see Kiprusoff pull himself out of the game.

Holy [expletive]. 6-0, not even 13 minutes into the game.
-
Good start for USA against Finland.

Also, for the record, Ed Snider is sort of just a figurehead at this point (for the Flyers and Sixers both). Yes, he signs off on all moves before they're done since he is indeed the chairman at Comcast Spectacor which is the company that owns the teams, but most of the day-to-day interactions and operations are done by Peter Luukko and some of the other head guys with the company. Snider has taken a step back in recent years, I guess mostly because of his age.
-
Interfere with what though? I think most people were down with the Brand signing when it happened, fans and Ed Snider all included. Other than that, what is he to do? That's the most annoying part about the NBA, there is only so much that Stefanski can do no matter how much (or how little) Ed Snider is pressuring him.
-
Eh, I am not really sure how Snider is to be blamed. He is not nearly as passionate about the 76ers as he is about the Flyers, but he also doesn't limit what Stefanski is allowed to do (from what I've heard). Also I don't know how Stefanski can really be blamed either, he has had his hands tied. Obviously, he made his own bed with the horrible Brand contract, but that's a different story. As for the on-the-court product, I'd say Eddie Jordan is absolutely most to blame for the record this season. Earlier in the season, I think we all saw all the close games they lost when he had horrible lineups on the floor in the final moments.

Dude Dumps Girlfriend on Radio show (Valentine's Day)

Holy [expletive]....that is horrible in so many ways. Yet completely hilarious. -
Usually MSNBC or CNBC. Occasionally NBC (like today's USA game, and I'd imagine the medal games).
-
Mostly true, but still, I find the NBA's rule to be silly. Either do what the NFL does and make them spend significant in college, or don't force them to go at all.
-
I don't really see a reason for one. In MLB and NHL you can get drafted right out of high school (and, in the case of baseball, sign with a team even younger than that if you are a foreign import). If you are good enough, I do not see why you should not be able to enter the league.
-
They do prank calls on his show quite frequently. Usually very entertaining.
-
They do something like this pretty much every day, haha. Pretty [expletive]ing hilarious.

See, that is what most people (myself included) said when we first got him. Apparently the league he was in is a joke (as I have posted about before). The parks were all hitters paradises. A friend of mine who knows more about baseball, and more specifically prospects, than anybody else I know, and also happens to be a Mariners fan, has said that JC Ramirez was an impressive of a starting pitching prospect as he had seen in their system. So I will take his word. He will probably start this season in Reading (AA) which is pretty close to me, so I am definitely going to give him a look if I can. I have heard him compared to Rafael Soriano in terms of "stuff".

If you were the following free agents...
Phightins replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
I do not really know for any of them, but... If LeBron goes to the Nets, whether they are in Brooklyn or not he will essentially be playing in NY. East Rutherford (where they are now) and Newark (where they will be for the next 2 seasons before going to Brooklyn) are both literally directly outside of the city on the New Jersey side. So it's not like he won't be in the city. With that said, I have a hunch that LeBron stays in Cleveland...
