Golf Channel: Woods to hold Friday press conference
Phightins replied to ChosenOne's topic in Other Sports Discussion
I am so sick and tired of this already, haha. People just need to get over themselves. All of these people bashing Tiger....who the hell cares, has Tiger [expletive]ed your significant other? If not, then stop with the "I need to hear him apologize" stuff. He made a bunch of mistakes, but just leave the guy alone. Now we get to listen to the media jerkoffs like Bill Simmons analyze that press conference for weeks (or at least until Tiger's next) and talk about how fake it was. Just get over it!!! And welcome him back with open arms when he decides to come back, because golf sure as hell needs him. Too bad that will not happen. -
San Antonio @ Philadelphia

That was a fun game. Don't understand why the Sixers always seem to play San Antonio very well. -
Sixers trade for Meeks, Elson

It is a real screenshot. They have a new smartass one-liner up there every day. -
I agree, I think Steve Yzerman screwed up. The closest thing they have to an "energy line" is when Richards Iginla and Bergeron are playing together. As we saw last night, you can't really win hockey games like that. And [expletive] waking up at 8 AM. I wanted to stay up to see the end of Slovakia/Russia so badly, I knew it'd be a great finish, but I just had to go to bed in the middle of the 3rd period. Oh well.

Never saw it, but reading about it now. So incredibly dumb. Shootouts are perhaps the biggest gimmick in sports, I hate seeing them decide games.
-
That was epic. Jonas Hiller and Luca Sbisa were incredible. True, Canada won, but I see them getting destroyed by Russia or Sweden, or even USA, if they play like that again. And I didn't think there was a way to make the shootout more ridiculous. Seriously, letting shooters go twice?

Blockbuster! Cavs and Lakers watch out. -
If they keep him in the bullpen I think he has an awesome chance of getting to the big leagues this year. Mostly because relief pitchers go through the system faster, but also because the Phillies bullpen is their one weakness so I'm sure they won't hesitate to call him up if it comes to it. If they keep him as a starter (as I am hoping they are able to do) I think he's at least a year and a half off.

It is kind of strange watching these games with the different rules.

That would be great. He absolutely has the talent to be a future MLB top of the rotation guy. The problem when he was in Seattle's organization was that hip condition he had. I heard he was in serious pain by the 4th or 5th inning, which is why they moved him to the bullpen in the first place. If he is over the hip thing that would be fantastic. Also, a friend of mine who is a Mariners fan said he thought JC Ramirez (other pitcher we got in the Lee trade) was their best starting pitching prospect. His numbers were just inflated because the league he played in last year is a joke, and pretty much every park was ridiculously skewed in favor of the hitters. So people who hadn't seen him pitch just assumed he was average because of pretty poor numbers in A-ball, but when you see him pitch you can see he's incredibly talented. I have not seen him pitch yet but I trust the guy who told me that. Time will tell.

Glad to see Richards and Pronger playing well. But otherwise, go Norway! :glasses:

Yeah. Phenomenal. -
I'll let Andrew have the Flyers, I want somebody random. So, uh, I'll take the Tampa Bay Lightning.
-
Eh, I know, but I think he probably could have chosen his words a bit better.

Getzlaf is playing for team Canada, so Carter got screwed. They made him fly all the way out to Vancouver and got his hopes up, and today they were basically like "yeah you can go home we don't need you". I am happy since it means he will get a 3 week break, but still a pretty [expletive]ty deal for him.
-
Just start the game already, plz.
-
Nice tie, Sager.
-
We'll see, it is just a theory. As you know, there is nothing predictable about this show.

It was an absolute mess on Friday.
-
Yeah that actually sounds pretty cool. If we can get enough people, I'm down.

The Canadian women's hockey team won 18-0.

Not trying to stir the pot or anything, but... http://www.habsinsideout.com/boone/29193 Really? Comparing the Flyers to Nazi's? I don't know who this guy is but apparently he is a legit columnist for the Canadiens, FYI. This is from last night.

Subban looks like a keeper.

Sucks that they are finally playing really well, and now they have to take 3 weeks off. Hopefully they can pick right up where they left off after the break. Honestly I thought these last 4 games would have been a disaster. I thought they'd be lucky to get 3 or 4 points. To win all 4 games is pretty exciting.
