Lolol...the "baseball gods" fully support the strategy. Similarly, can't believe we are in the 10th inning of a tie game with a Joe Savery/Erik Kratz battery .
-
Bottom 9th, tie game, middle of the order coming up. Michael Schwimer in the game, Papelbon sitting idly. Even if Schwim escapes, this is so freaking annoying.
-
Simply remarkable.

Safe to say this Chooch injury is likely the nail in the coffin, if it's serious. Also, Bastardo had a self-inflicted weight room injury after his appearance last night, out of frustration. Shit has officially hit the fan, although it's nice to know that he cares!
-
Surprised Livan lasted this long, lol. Also I got a kick out of Fredi ripping the sabermetric ideas for bullpen management the other night. Like he's in a position to talk...
-
Nice get for Tampa. And Kyle, what's the name?
-
You guys still win the Halladay trade.
-
Thome...goodness. The Phillies will have some serious decisions to make after this road trip.
-
Cain....good lord.
-
Haha. You need to remember these are the same idiots that booed Bobby Abreu mercilessly last week in his first trip back here as an opposing player. Yes, Abreu, the guy who never did anything controversial and, for my money, is the best Phillies hitter of my lifetime. There isn't much logic involved, people are just stupid.

Wait, you mean to tell me you don't want a $1,500 game-used ball?

Random Sixers Thoughts 2011-12
Phightins replied to Phightins's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
It looks like Danny Ferry will be the new GM. On one hand, it is great that they are hiring *somebody* now. This upcoming offseason, one could argue, is the biggest for this team in over a decade. With Thorn out of the role, we need somebody to take over ASAP to get this thing rolling. On the other hand, I have read some not-so-great things about Ferry. But I am not sure how much it will matter, since the main point of this hiring is to supposedly get Doug Collins more power. -
This is about as weird as I figured it'd be.
-
Because the Devils were playing the Rangers. Obviously there is nothing fixed here so it's a moot point. But if it were, the more logical spot for a "fix" would be NYR/ NJD.
-
I think you're reaching a bit. I know you aren't claiming it's fixed, but if there was anything like that, the NHL would not have let these two get to the Finals in the first place haha.

Welp...

These JvR/Nash rumors need to be taken with a grain of salt, no matter which perspective you have. Everyone has a different extreme opinion of Howard Eskin. He is obviously an obnoxious idiot when it comes to hockey, however he has one hell of a source in the organization. Somebody very close to Holmgren. He is almost never wrong on stories like this, even if he may exaggerate sometimes. So while I don't want to believe this, I don't think it can be totally dismissed.
-
First good news in a while. Chase Utley will begin his official rehab assignment tomorrow. Also, the top 3 draft picks all signed at or below slot value.
-
Seriously. And since we are the NL Least, what does that make the NL West? Or Central for that matter...
-
I haven't seen anybody deny that the AL is better, so why do you keep bringing this up? I know the answer to that question, btw. So you don't need to bother.

Simply remarkable. Adam Jones and Matt Wieters coming up, and the left handed Joe Savery comes into pitch while Papelbon sits idly. Just terrible. This shouldn't get me so shocked/angry anymore, but the stupidity of this team, from the players to the coaches to the front office, is just amazing.
-
Up to 6 walk-off loses on the road this year and Jonathan Papelbon has appeared in zero of them. I know, this stupidity expands to basically every team in baseball. With maybe 2 or 3 exceptions, nobody uses their closer on the road in a non-save situation. So unbelievably dumb. It'd be nice if the Phillies started thinking more progressively, considering their lack of bullpen depth.
