Well of course only a few people did it, but don't forget that makes every single Philadelphia fan a cruel savage. Duh. Haven't you read this thread?
-
Haha yeah. Whatever, don't feel like arguing this again. But this does happen everywhere, it's just only a big deal when it happens here. Really annoying for the fans like me, fly3rs, Smitty, and whoever else who goes to games and does not act like that (the large majority of Philadelphia fans). Even more annoying that ugly stuff like this happens just as much in places like New York, Boston, and Chicago but it's rarely a big deal in those cities.

The snow ball fight was another black eye for Philadelphia fans and gives the media and ignorant public yet another excuse to rip on us. I will admit the snow ball fight was embarrassing. But stop with the generalizations.

Don't know about everywhere, but definitely New England. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/2007/12/17/2007-12-17_patriot_fans_taunt_jets_with_fake_camera.html

Who did you see it with?

Phillies and Angels supposedly the two main teams in on Fernando Rodney. Phillies only major need yet to be filled is the bullpen. I have never been that high on Rodney, but it looks like the options are dwindling and he might be the best bet remaining. He'd have to be willing to primarily be the setup man, but the fact that he has experience closing is nice. Also, I really think the Phillies should just give in and give Chan Ho Park whatever he wants to get him to stay. He was, for my money, the most valuable pitcher on the staff last season (well except for Cliff Lee in the postseason, obviously). Losing him and his versatility creates a major void and I don't see anybody else in the organization who can fill it.

Westbrook Will Retire After The Season
Phightins replied to The Artesticle's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
Yeah. If John Clayton actually said this, he was misinformed by somebody. I have been watching our local sports channel pretty much all afternoon, including segments with guys who are in the Eagles training complex every day. Nobody said anything, and this would be one of the biggest stories of the year if true. With that said, I would not be shocked if he does retire, he just hasn't decided yet. -
Vazquez's AL/NL splits throughout his career are huge. Had a very good season with Atlanta but I think a lot of people need to be convinced that he can pitch in the AL, myself included.

I think he should retire. But like I was saying, our local guys would be all over this if he actually announced he's retiring. We'll see what happens. -

Not that I doubt you or your sources, but.... If this were true, it absolutely would be all over the local news around here, and there is nothing about it anywhere. -
Wow. That is all I have to say. I attended the 8-2 loss to Washington a couple weeks ago and I attended tonight as well. Honestly the 8-2 game was more bearable to watch than tonight. This is a disgraceful waste of talent.

Jimmie Johnson AP Male Athlete of the Year
Phightins replied to xx.'s topic in Other Sports Discussion
I do not like NASCAR at all so I will not go too far to defend it, but I do know a little bit about it and the general perception of it couldn't be more wrong. And a lot of that is showing through in this thread. -
Jimmie Johnson AP Male Athlete of the Year
Phightins replied to xx.'s topic in Other Sports Discussion
Look, I am not a NASCAR fan, but there is so much ignorance in this country when it comes to it. People who say you don't need to be an athlete to drive a stock car have no idea what they are talking about. Clearly it is not like football, basketball, or hockey in terms of pure athleticism, but it is also not as simple as taking an easy stroll around the block in your average car (despite what people think). Also, Jimmie Johnson has dominated that sport just as much, if not more than Tiger Woods and Roger Federer have dominated theirs. Seems like a good pick to me. -
Tonight's game should be interesting. The Panthers basically came out and said they will have a bulls eye on Mike Richards and will seek "revenge" for the hit on David Booth in October. They also called up two goons from the AHL yesterday. Coincidence? I think not.
-
Give me a break dude lol. Same thing happens when it snows in New England, difference is the announcers don't feel the need to trash Boston fans.
-
Also, Daryl Johnson and Tony Siragusa are jokes. I knew they had been waiting all day to get in a line about Philadelphia fans and snow balls. Surprised it took this long.

I have a man crush on Leonard Weaver.

Apparently there was something going on between Eric Lindros and Rod Brind'Amour's girl back in the day, and some people say that's why Rod was traded to Carolina. But if this deal with Carter is true and it gets out, well, it's unfortunate for Tiger Woods that nobody in America cares about hockey because this would be huge.

Yep. -
I still don't get why he hasn't been called up. He is tearing up the AHL, the Flyers can't find the back of the net if their lives depended on it, seems like the easiest first thing to try, right? And compared to the other [expletive] going on with this team his issues seem small haha.
-
Also, Riley Cote and Danny Briere are going through divorces. Coincidence? And there are tons of coke heads all around the league. Lupul and Upshall were big time into that. Also I don't think there's been confirmation that Carter is being shopped, but if the Flyers are to make a "big shakeup" he'd be the only one who makes sense contract-wise. Like I said in the Flyers thread, I hope these guys aren't too excited about the Winter Classic, because by the time that rolls around in a week and a half this roster will most likely look a lot different. And they all hit the bottle way more than they should, but I think that is an NHL-wide issue not really just a Flyers issue.
-
I think the Mets will have to overpay big time to get him. I do not know any right handed hitter who would want to go there.

Our old friend "Diesel" will be at this game. Because of the snow storm he will probably be one of like 5 people there (that isn't much of an exaggeration). No Iverson. Lou is back but coming off the bench. Willie still starts (YAY). -
So [expletive]ing gay. I have never seen a team underachieve this much. I hope the players aren't too excited about playing in the Winter Classic because once the trade freeze ends not one of them is safe.

I don't know if AI has anything to do with it. I mean just look at the Cleveland game. The Sixers were right in that until Eddie Jordan decided to put Rodney Carney and Willie Green on the floor at the end of the 4th quarter.
