Phillies sign Placido Polanco. Happy to have him back.

Philadelphia @ Oklahoma City
Phightins replied to alcstarheel's topic in Oklahoma City Thunder Team Forum
This is disappointing. They are not getting blown out in almost any of these losses. They are keeping everything close, against some good teams too. They just keep coming up a bit short. Frustrating. -
As I have said, I am now convinced that if there was ever a player born to be a Flyer it was Ian Laperriere. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g96/philsphan1210/x2_577322.jpg

I am hearing that the Phillies are intensifying talks with Placido Polanco.

This is so sad.

Lol, learn the Princeton offense. How long do you think Allen pays attention in that lesson?

Vokoun smacked in the head by his own defenseman
Phightins replied to fly3rs18's topic in Hockey Forum
Yeah smacking your stick against the boards/crossbar/goal post out of frustration is pretty common, but usually guys are smart enough to check if somebody is in the way beforehand. -
It is going to be weird as hell seeing the Wachovia Center full for something besides a Flyers game or concert.
-
The Flyers must really like Oskars Bartulis since they signed him to a 3-year extension.
-
Well, it's pretty clear that all the trade speculation in the middle of last season really affected his game. So I don't blame him. If I were in his spot I'd want to be traded by February too, so I'd have all of Spring Training to get settled in and pitch with a clear head all year, then deal with free agency next winter even if it means risking not getting dealt and one more year of pitching for Toronto and no playoffs.

Tix are still available man. Pick some up now while you have the chance!

Let me know when a Boston team does something wrong.

After going out of my way to buy tickets to Monday night's game, I really hope this does not fall through now.
-
Would you like some cheese with that whine?

I am hearing that he will be signed by 5 this afternoon. Don't shoot me if this doesn't happen, but this is what I am hearing.

The Tigers did not offer arbitration to Placido Polanco, which is kind of big since he is a type-A free agent. This means that if somebody other than the Tigers signs him, they do not need to give up their first round pick. I am guessing this makes him a hell of a lot more attractive to the Phillies now.

http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/sixerville/More_Iverson_Conversation_Today.html I just bought tickets to Monday night's game. Article also says that Stefanski and Leon Rose are meeting today. Obviously as a fan I want to see this happen, but I can see why the Sixers may be tentative about it. As much as I dislike everything Eddie Jordan has done, adding Iverson would go completely against his philosophy and basically be a sign of already giving up on the season. Also, Ed Snider was very clear in his intent to get Iverson out of town last time around, and he would sort of look like a hypocrite if he brings him back. But like I said, I want to be interested in this team again, as do most other fans.

Phillies sign Brian Schneider. Weird. Thought they would have gone for a right handed bat, but you could do a whole lot worse than Brian Schneider as a backup catcher.
-
I agree Jordan has been horrible.
-
I agree, but of all nights to bash the Sixers I don't know if this is it. They actually played well for a change, and lost with a second left to a very good Western Conference team. So on top of losing to bad play, we are also getting bitten by [expletive] luck now.

What gives?

Chris Coste is a really great guy, honestly one of my all time favorite Phillies as ridiculous as that may sound. I don't think he can play anymore, however, and Mets fans will realize this very soon if they have not already. He will be a hell of a manager someday, though. And I agree that the Cora signing is an absolute joke and it illustrates why I think Omar Minaya is a terrible general manager. This team has so many holes, and Minaya gives $2 million guaranteed to Alex Cora? When there are so many younger guys who could do exactly what Cora will do (and probably more) for a quarter of the price? Don't get it, but whatever, as a Phillies fan I am not complaining.

[expletive]kkkkkkkk the Mets signed Chris Coste. He is one of my favorites, it will be awful tough to see him in a Mets uniform.

Breaking News: Tiger Woods Seriously Injured in Car Crash
Phightins replied to Smitty's topic in Other Sports Discussion
Well, clearly something fishy happened, or he would have just come clean about it from the start. So, considering that, there is absolutely no way he tells what happened since he is not legally obligated to.
