15 strikeouts for Chris Sale...
-
Niese looks horrendous, could barely throw a strike if his life depended on it. Yet the Phillies keep swinging at awful pitches and it is a 2-2 game. Yay offense!
-
Carlos Ruiz scratched from today's lineup with a hamstring issue. I know Heyman has been trolling Phillies fans on Twitter the past few days by saying we are far from the least lucky team, but I struggle to believe there's a team out there that's been destroyed by injuries worse than we have. Getting ridiculous.

The best part is the Rockies broadcasters crying about it. http://deadspin.com/5913663/look-mom-no-hands-home-run-edition

Obviously, the Oswalt rumors will pick up big time now. Not sure how much of a help he would be, though, assuming he won't be in MLB shape until late June/early July. For the short term, a rotation backed by Joe Blanton, Kyle Kendrick, and Joe Savery/Scott Elarton is pretty frightening.

Random Sixers Thoughts 2011-12
Phightins replied to Phightins's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
Very weird season. Considering how the regular season finished, that playoff run was certainly unexpected and more than I could have ever hoped for. Will be an interesting offseason. Futures of Elton Brand, Andre Iguodala, Spencer Hawes, Lou Williams, and Jodie Meeks up in the air. Honestly wouldn't be shocked to see most/all of them gone, either via trade, free agency, or amnesty. -
Oh well. Really proud of my team.
-
Signing 47 year old Hasek would be the most Flyers thing ever.
-
Yes!!! Woooo
-
Lol @ Bobby Valentine calling the Rays coaches "immature". Hello pot, hello kettle.
-
Ugh, I really do hate umpires.
-
Why is it such a sure thing? We have beaten them three times this series. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Boston wins big, but I don't understand why everyone is writing us off so easily. Not like Boston is up 3-0 in the series or anything. Clearly the Sixers are capable of beating them.
-
Bomani Jones (and others) are suggesting that the NBA should fix this game so Boston wins. Ugh. The fact that this is even being discussed is pretty sad. I am already prepared for Boston to get the benefit of pretty much every call, just because it's game 7, they are at home, and they have big names. It'll be interesting. Seems like pretty much everything is lining up against us.
-
Nah, the Phillies aren't really giving any updates. Utley has been taking ground balls, but that's about all I know.
-
Dom Brown getting a look in CF for Lehigh Valley. Pretty interesting. I'd certainly say he has the physical ability to play there, but since he lacks the instincts to play a corner OF spot, I wonder how this will translate to CF. This is obviously a story because of Shane Victorino's pending free agency.

Sorry to Kyle and all the Ranger fans. You guys had a hell of a year. Not looking forward to Flyers/Rangers matchups over the next few years.
-
Yeah no kidding, we don't stand a chance. ESPN has been pumping this narrative out all week. But why do people seem to think Boston does? They are about to play game 7 with us and have looked awful in the process. Realistically, Heat should not have a problem with either.
-
As of yesterday, there were some tickets available on the secondary market for less than $20. For an elimination game on May 23rd. Pretty unreal, wish I could have made it. Also, should be cool seeing Iverson.
-
Not really related to anything else in the thread, but it's kind of amazing that in the year 2012, somebody can say... ...and more people seem be offended by/take notice of the word "bandwagon" than the other word. Pretty sad. Our society has a long way to go.
-
Ugh. Wow.
-
This is going swimmingly.

Other than one of the Howell strikeouts, I don't have a problem with any of those called 3rds. Possibly the first Bagwell strikeout. Even if you take those two out, that is still one of the most dominant performances I have ever seen. Possibly the most dominant.

Also, Kerry Wood retired yesterday and it was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rwozEf9jrw&feature=related His 20 strikeout game is still one of my favorite baseball things. Pitching porn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kuR-qSeN-8
