This is easily the worst sports week I can remember in a long, long time. All that's needed to top it off is a Sixers collapse.

What they really need is for NBC Sports Network to turn into a legitimate competitor to ESPN. This obviously won't happen any time soon, and won't happen at all if they don't add more high profile programming. I'm really not sure if an ESPN deal would help as much as everybody thinks. I used to think that would be such an easy fix, but now I am not so sure anymore. The SportsCenter pub would be a huge deal, and it may be worth it just for that. But, due to the scheduling conflict with the NBA (specifically in the postseason), I suspect most NHL events would get stuck on ESPN2 (or worse). Not sure if that's as big of a step up as everybody thinks.

Philadelphia sports has a very pre-2008 feel to it these days.

Welp, it's something new every year. You'd think a team in the playoffs every single season would get lucky just once in 38 years. Maybe next time. But probably not.

Jamar Chaney (Eagles linebacker) went to game 3 of the Flyers-Penguins series and tweeted that it was the greatest sporting event he had ever been to, bar none. All in all, these playoffs have been a huge success, TV ratings wise. Interested to see how the sport evolves over the next decade or so. Also, I hate to even bring this up, but I wonder what the impact would have been if the NBA season was cancelled.

5 games for Hamels. Wish he wouldn't have opened his mouth to the media last night, but whatever. Mostly annoyed because I have tickets to what was to be his next start. Now it looks like I will get stuck with Kendrick instead! Woohoo!!

Giroux suspended one game, and I have no idea what to make of it. Suspension-worthy hit? Probably, yes. Especially given the shift leading up to it. G was visibly upset with the officials and how the game was going. Certainly made it appear that the hit on Zubrus was out of frustration. I get that. Given that, I can't argue with the suspension. But considering the precedent Shanahan has set? This is super frustrating. Way worse offenses have been let go. Shanahan is definitely flipping a coin at this point.

He is really good, although Juan Pierre's arm in LF is beyond laughable. Any other LFer in the league (not an exaggeration) and there is no way Harper even tries that.

Included in those two pitched innings....he made Salty look ridiculous. Two low 90s fastball and a super impressive changeup. Strike out on 3 pitches. I missed the final inning but I heard he did the same thing to Adrian.
