Plenty of blame to go around. That change was indeed brutal. Again, I realize that Lilja a) is not particularly good at hockey and b) was put in an awful spot because of his teammates. Obviously a recipe for disaster, but he still could not have handled that 2-on-1 more poorly. Just terrible all the way around.
-
Too upset to watch the replay again, but thanks for nothing Lilja. Literally....nothing. I understand that he was hung out to dry on a 2-on-1, but he could not have handled that any more poorly.

And when I wrote it, it wasn't even intended to be a shot at the Rangers. The Bruins were in big trouble also. I was mostly happy/stunned that we'd wind up with home ice in the 2nd round, haha.

Notice the day that post was written.....

I guess Marty's whining after game 1 paid off for him. Brutal GI on Schenn. I get that it was a makeup call for the Kovy penalty, but ridiculous nonetheless. Not a great night for the stripes so far.

Letting the Gus-Lilja pairing on the ice at the same time as the Briere line doesn't seem like the smartest of ideas. But it seems to be happening quite a bit...

Losing is cooler than using your best relief pitcher in a tie game on the road, you guys. Charlie Manuel rocks.
-
What a [expletive]ing joke. Everything about this game. Charlie Manuel sucks. James Hoye sucks. Good night everyone .
-
Charlie Manuel's incompetence has me absolutely speechless.

Roy has officially become human. Had gotten decent results all season up until now, but I feared this was coming. Not missing bats anymore and significantly worse-than-normal command. His FB velo is way down, which is definitely part of the reason why he doesn't miss bats anymore. Perhaps he is trying to compensate by throwing his off-speed stuff at times he normally wouldn't, which may be leading to the command issues. Who knows. Still getting a lot of weak contact, although too much contact of any kind can lead to bad things. As evidenced by tonight. He gets BABIPd to death, winds up in a jam, then makes one awful pitch to McCann. He is still good, so don't believe all the BS "Halladay is done omg omg omg!!" articles that will surely pop up tomorrow. However, he isn't anywhere close to the machine he has been for most of his career. Quite sad.

Well....thanks for salvaging an otherwise awful night, Sixers.
-
Haven't seen them this terrible in at least a month. Hopefully it's a one-time thing.

Had high expectations for Bryz this series. Looks like we will indeed need to win in spite of him. This game has been total Flyers domination since the first period, will be a shame to put it to waste.

Do it Flyers

Not sure what letter grade I'd give the Eagles. But I will say "really really really really good", if that counts as a grade. Very excited about it.
-
Wow. Yes. This might be false..
-
Hahahaha the Ovie chant with 8 minutes left in the period. Amazing.
-
Terrible. Hate to see this happen to anybody. Was really hoping these guys would take out Miami.
-
Done for playoffs, obviously. Ugh UPDATE: Just ACL, as I am sure everyone already knows. Confirmed by Bulls.
-
It's a torn ACL/MCL. Done for playoffs, obviously. Ugh

I wanted him so bad in the third round, which is why I was a bit disappointed with the Foles pick. Seemed a bit odd to take a developmental QB that high when there were so many guys left on the board who can help now. But now that we got Boykin a round later, all is well. Makes the Foles pick look better too!

Well, this changes things...

With the exception of a 7 or 8 game stretch early this season, he has been consistently awful for his entire career.
