Oh it certainly did. I found out all I needed to know about him when he signed Raul Ibanez for 3 years, TBH. It has been down hill since then, too. But for the first time since he's been GM, the team isn't a World Series contender. For his past three offseasons/trade deadlines, he's been able to suck the farm system bone dry in order to add the players he wanted (and most fans, myself obviously not included, didn't have a problem with it). He's also been able to hand out obscene contracts to get the free agents he wants. It doesn't take a rocket scientist of a GM to overpay in prospects/money to get the top available talent. It does take a smart GM to lead the team out of the mess it's in right now. I don't think he's up for the task, but maybe he can prove me wrong.

My man "FanSince09" started that trend of RTing racist tweets about Ward last night. To take it a step further, he found out that several of them play college hockey/baseball/other sports, so he contacted their schools/coaches. At least 2-3 confirmed cases of kids getting kicked off their teams. Awesome.

At least the Flyers were able to trade him for Petr Nedved! And yes that was awful timing on that Chimera penalty. Not sure if the Canadian broadcast showed it, but NBC had a nice view that showed Walkom's arm go up a full 2 seconds after the play. Clearly influenced by the crowd reaction. Pretty awful. Not saying it wasn't a legitimate penalty, but considering all the other stuff that had been let go all game long, that was a pretty weak call.

All things considered, I am happy with a 5-5 road trip.

Looking more and more like the strong start to the season was the worst thing to possibly happen. Got the wrong idea in everybody's head. Lou's stock was as high as ever at the trade deadline. Management had to know that Lou would opt out after this year. Had to. If their logic behind keeping him was to make a run this year, they were incredibly misinformed. Quite sad, and definitely not a step in the right direction.

When both sides are furious with the officiating, pretty strong chance it's a Tim Peel game. Yup.

Well, they literally are EXACTLY the same team as last year. The roster is more or less identical. Last year's cold stretch was at the beginning of the season, this year it is at the end. And we are looking at the same result. Honestly, I had no clue Lou had the ability to opt out. Now I am very annoyed that they didn't trade him at the deadline.
