Schedule released today... Flyers schedule is kind of weird. Tons of home games in the beginning of the year and tons of road games towards the end. They also have I think 3 west coast trips. Winter Classic at Fenway should be sick though. If I had a little more cash I'd buy Flyers season tickets this year because apparently that guarantees tickets to that, even though it's technically a road game.

Don't like it because 95% of the players participating will have nothing to do with the actual World Series. Why let them influence who gets home field? It is not fair if a team is 10 games better than it's opponent but does not get home field in the World Series because some exhibition determined it. Sure it adds a bit more drama to the all star game, but I'd rather see the World Series play out fairly seeing as that, and not the all star game, is the pinnacle of the sport. Luckily for Selig there has not been a World Series game 7 since the "this time it counts" BS was initiated, but if and when there is one, it could get ugly.

I would actually say MLB no contest, but I think they are all pretty dumb. The only reason I say the MLB all star game is because to me, that is the only one actually tolerable to watch.

In the last handful it isn't even like they really got outplayed. Losing a lot of 1-run games. Can't really put a finger on why it's happening.

This was right when I was beginning to become a diehard hockey fan too, so it really spiked my interest.

That is precisely the problem. Why don't you worry about your anemic offense and thinking of new ways to choke this season. Although it is kind of difficult to choke from fourth place I guess.

Oh well...Charlie is allowed to do what he wants, and in this case that is rewarding his players. If you have a problem with that, tough [expletive]...it's one of the perks of winning the World Series. Lots of managers do it on a far bigger scale than this.

And since obviously to you the game is so pointless that you, the guy who clearly values defense so much based on our Manny/Hanley Ramirez discussion, have absolutely no problem putting a guy with no centerfield experience out there, why do you care so much about Vic being on the team (and starting)?

He put them in such a [expletive]ty cap situation. They will probably have to trade Sharp or Byfuglien. They should be pretty good this year but a few years down the road, what this guy did will really hurt them IMO.

Because he is the only natural centerfielder on the NL roster.

This combined with the fact that ESPN is making the predictions here leads me to not take any of it seriously. I will say that I have very, very high expectations for the Flyers.

I have always thought homerun derby's sucked. They are only tolerable if you watch with a large group of people. If I had to sit by myself and watch that I'd probably resort to gouging my eyes out. It is just a 3 hour add for an insurance firm with a stupid little contest occasionally mixed in.

That'd be cool if Charlie subs out Braun early and puts Werth in...all 3 Phils in the OF at once.

While hockey is the most exciting to watch in person, there is no place in the world I would rather be than a baseball game (obviously because it is my favorite sport). But there is nothing like it...so relaxing.

I am sure all of OTR's Blue Jacket fans are happy to hear this.

Hockey is the greatest sport to watch in person, by a mile. Especially in a city that is passionate about the sport. Too bad that most parts of this country don't realize that.

Obviously I want Ryan to win it in his home town, but Nelson Cruz is my sleeper.

Well, the logic there would be that if Halladay is acquired, Happ would probably be sent to Toronto as part of the deal, so we'd need another stopgap for the back of the rotation (Pedro). The more and more I think about it, the less I want Halladay though.

Vic is starting in centerfield tomorrow night and batting 7th.

You never know. Ricciardi hinted that should he get traded he will probably not take that into consideration because as a free agent in 2 years, there's a good chance he will wind up in the AL East anyway.
