Source: Lou Williams To Opt Out, Become Free Agent
Phightins replied to The Regime's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
Yeah. Mentioned this in the other thread yesterday. Anyway, to repeat my thoughts, this totally sucks. I know people have differing opinions of Lou, but losing a guy like that for nothing stings a lot. -
Ballin. This one feels very good. Very real chance of being the top seed in the East next round. Pretty ridiculous.
-
I'll be surprised-ish if he is around for us, unless we trade up. It'd be nice though.
-
Reminds me of the '06 Red Sox. I hope that's all it is, and not a multi year thing. But it doesn't look good...
-
Poor Rangers. Caught Craig Anderson on one of his Superman days. He's such a weird goalie. When he is unbeatable....he is literally unbeatable.
-
I am not trolling (hope you believe me), but I find it hilarious that the Mets don't have a no-hitter, but now 7 former Mets do. Not that it means anything. Just very bizarre.

Rough day for Boston sports...

And we have our first major event of the 2012 season.

Random Sixers Thoughts 2011-12

http://philly.sbnation.com/philadelphia-76ers/2012/4/21/2965431/lou-williams-contract-philadelphia-76ers-rumors-nba-off-season-2012 Woooo yeahhhh. Losing a nice asset and getting no compensation is the best way to start a rebuild, you guys. -
I think this is 100% because of Torres' history. If this is a first time offender, I'd be stunned with anything more than 2 or 3 games. Honestly, 25 seems about right. Very Matt Cooke-ish. Enough is enough. If something this severe forces Torres to pull his head out of his ass, it is worth it.
-
Yep. Figured something like this would happen, mostly because he's been suspended like 5 times in the past few years for similar hits. Still hard to take anything Shanahan does seriously after how he handled the Weber incident, though.
-
Marlon Byrd to Red Sox. I guess Theo didn't burn that bridge all the way down...
-
25 games for Torres. Holy....
-
Obviously concerned, but won't be panicking unless we lose tomorrow. If the team that showed up in the third period last night shows up again tomorrow, we are not losing. That team doesn't lose two games in a row, much less four. Seems like Bryz has no lateral movement. Lots of talk about a nagging hip injury, which he is of course denying. But that would explain a lot. Anyway, not sure what I'd rather have. An injured Bryz with no lateral movement, or a cold Bob, who has played like 5 total periods in the last 2 months. Neither option is very appealing.

Unreal what Orpik was allowed to get away with on JvR...
-
Malkin is a cock sucker. My goodness.
-
So how many extra inning road games will we lose with a MR on the mound while Papelbon sits in the bullpen twiddling his thumbs? For the record...not blaming Bastardo for yesterday's loss, it was all Wigginton's fault (or Charlie's fault for not putting Orr or Polanco in for defense). But my point stands. Needless to say, Charlie Manuel is having a dreadful season.
-
The Mets should honor the Marlins for giving Reyes that dumb contract.
-
OT playoff losses are the worst thing.
-
JvR for Rinaldo, Gustafsson for Kubina, lets get it done in game 5 and pretend tonight didn't happen. Kthnx.
-
Definitely the right call to pull Bryz for the sake of this game. But assuming this series goes back to Pittsburgh, things will get interesting. Bryz takes shit like this so personally. Although what's the worse that can happen? Can't really be much worse than he's been.
-
JvR is apparently ready to go. Not playing tonight though. No way Lavy changes the lineup with a 3-0 series lead. But it's great to know that he's ready.
-
1 for Neal, 4 for Asham. Neal got off light.
-
The issue with Neal is that he did it twice. And to arguably the two most dominant players in the series. Seems a bit much to be a coincidence. But who knows.
-
People are suggesting that Shanahan realizes he messed up by letting Weber off, and perhaps he is trying to "make up for it" with some of these other absurd suspensions. But if Shaw is going to get 3 games, I can't even imagine what Neal and Asham will get. But of course, Shanahan is too unpredictable anyway.
