I don't really follow this. Why are playoff appearances relevant when comparing two individual players? This is kind of acceptable when comparing basketball superstars (although I still hate it in that case too), but definitely not for hockey. Hasek is clearly superior in all team independent stats. Bringing up the team dependent stuff doesn't really strengthen Roy's case.

Michael Martinez has a broken foot. Freddy Galvis officially the Opening Day 2nd baseman. In hindsight, kind of wish we didn't trade Wilson Valdez. I certainly wouldn't want him getting any regular playing time, but it's just a depth issue. Martinez and Galvis are probably the only two guys in the organization (other than J Roll of course) capable of playing an MLB caliber shortstop. Now MiniMart is hurt and Galvis is needed at 2B. Speaking of Galvis...the only bright side to Utley being out is that I am looking forward to seeing Galvis play regularly.

Saints fans should consider themselves lucky. I am in favor of a lifetime ban for Williams, and Payton is getting off way too light IMO.

Chase Utley will more than likely begin the season on the DL. Really, this spring could not be going much worse. Every starting pitcher other than Joe Blanton is getting rocked (although this doesn't concern me all that much), but injury-wise, ohhhh boy are we in trouble. I think the lineup can survive without Ryan Howard, but without Utley too? This is an issue, to put it lightly.

Definitely the right call to send him to AAA. 19 year olds have never succeeded in the Majors. Not even Mickey Mantle. It would be nice if you're right, though, but unfortunately I think he is going to be as advertised.

Just saw the replay of the big scrum in the 3rd period. Chris Kunitz, you suck.

Take this back. The 2nd period today was easily worse. All is well that ends well, though. It is a weird feeling to win a game thanks to a goalie "stealing" it. Should have been down by 3 or 4 goals by the time the 3rd period began. Anyway, I was at the game so I can't really comment on a lot of the stuff since I didn't have a good view. Thankfully I still haven't seen a close up of the Rinaldo play.

Just got a ticket to see the Crosby show in Philly tomorrow afternoon. Kind of excited, but mostly dreading it...
