It's okay, get it all out of your system before the all star break...

The Flyers won tonight, thanks in large part to Wayne Simmonds and James van Riemsdyk absolutely taking over in the 3rd/OT. But this was 9 seconds away from being yet another loss in which the goaltending was the difference. Ondrej Pavelec was insanely good, and as usual, Bryz was just meh at best. But all in all, what an awesome win. Jags now the all time leader in OT goals.

Three team trade today. Kyle Quincey to Detroit, Steve Downie to Colorado, DET first round pick to Tampa.

I suspect Bryzgalov will be given every chance to justify his contract over the next 2-3 seasons, but if he is still a complete bust at that point, they can buy him out and save a considerable amount of cap space. I doubt they do anything this drastic soon (as in, within the next 2-3 seasons), but there is no way they will let this nonsense drag out for 9 years. Haven't put as much thought into the Pronger situation. I think that, all in all, we are screwed there. However I think the team will be able to find ways to make small savings here and there (LTIR, perhaps an eventual buy out). This is all pending on the new CBA though. Hopefully the new CBA makes it easier to buy out players, not harder.

As a general rule, I tend to avoid the blog "Crossing Broad" since I cannot stand the guy who runs it. I think Raul is a decent fit for the Yankees, so long as he is kept out of the field and only plays against select pitchers. Still has a lot of power to right field, which should obviously help you guys given the stadium.

Word from Clearwater is that Ryan Howard is running and fielding ground balls. I guess this is encouraging. Not sure if this means anything different for his recovery time, but it can't be a bad thing.

Also, not letting the refs off the hook, but the ending really overshadowed the dumb jump shot Lou took just a few seconds earlier. If he would have milked the entire shot clock before taking a dumb shot, the Wolves would have been left with only 1.5 or so seconds, which would have changed everything. Annoying situation all around.

And so, the Sixers lose thanks to a garbage call with 0.1 seconds left. Sixers up 1, Iguodala "fouls" Kevin Love. He got all ball. Was painfully obvious on first viewing. Even if there was a bit of contact, it would have been an incredibly weak call to end a game on. Replay confirmed that it was ALL ball. Love makes both free throws, Wolves win by 1. Brutal.

Yeah I guess so. It just annoys me a bit because now more than ever, the Flyers need to be focussing on the draft. And in the past 3 days, they have traded away 4 picks. Main reason I wanted them to completely stand pat. I still am a big fan of the Grossman trade, but Kubina is just overkill. It will be nice for the remainder of this season though.

So, the Flyers traded for Pavel Kubina (pending that they first unload another contract to stay under the maximum of 50). He is definitely a huge upgrade over Bourdon, but I don't like the idea of giving up MORE draft picks (a 2nd and a 4th). Wonder if there is another shoe to drop at some point soon.

It was definitely awesome, but I wouldn't have gone if it wasn't offered to me for free. I prefer the $15 seats to the $110 ones.

There have been some annoying losses this year, but I am not sure this one can be topped.
