Stephane Auger is the Joe West of the NHL.

By the way, on a personal note that likely nobody cares about, this was my first lower level NBA experience. Holy hell that was amazing. 7th row, right behind Ryan Howard! http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g96/philsphan1210/IMG_20120217_203326.jpg

WHAT A GREAT SECOND HALF!!!!
-
I'd love that trade if I were the Angels (pending how much cash the Yankees eat...assuming a similar amount to what's being reported with this Pittsburgh rumor).
-
Neither pick was "ours" either. Carter Richards and Powe for Voracek Couturier Schenn Simmonds and Grossman. Sweet.
-
Great trade, great win, great day. Finally.

RIP Gary Carter.

Went from a 6 point game to a 16 point game in just about a minute. First half ends just about as great as it began.

This is going GREAT!!!

Yeah. It's the other way around for the Flyers. Lots of pretty sick young forwards, but not one defenseman under age 26 that projects as anything more than an average 3rd pairing type of guy. So maybe this trade could help both teams. JvR has underperformed massively for basically his entire career. Not to mention he is injured all the time. I'm definitely not giving up on him, you can tell how much potential he has. He's just been pretty frustrating in his career thus far.

Mixed feelings. Chris Pronger's career is likely done and Kimmo Timonen isn't getting any younger. So in that regard, it would be nice to have a young defenseman in the organization with Schenn's potential. Right now the cupboard is pretty bare. On the other hand, I would really like to see management resist all urges and stand pat for now. Schenn, or a similar player, would be costly. Literally all of our current valuable assets are already contributing in the NHL. To get a guy like Schenn, we'd be giving up a major part of both the present and the future. I really feel like the Flyers have an incredible young nucleus and I'd hate to see them mess it up. Obviously, the one big hole (specifically referring to the "young" part) is on defense, but I don't want to see them mess with this group. Let them develop together over the next few seasons. Some of the poor salary cap decisions the team has made over the past few seasons will probably interfere with this plan more than any trade would, though. However, if there is anything to that van Riemsdyk-for-Schenn straight up trade, the Flyers probably have to do it. But really I don't see why the Maple Leafs would want that, aside from Brian Burke's apparent obsession with JvR. BTW, sorry to give such a long-winded answer to such a short question, lol.

Well, for the record, there is no confirmation that he is going for Nash, it's just speculation. But yes I agree, if he does trade for Nash, there are big big problems.

I generally like the more chill, old school guys with the sweet pipes as opposed to the more "hip" new age PA guys that just scream obnoxiously. But if you have the old school approach, you have to have an awesome voice and great approach to make it work. Personally, I cannot stand the Heat guy (not trying to troll, just speaking the truth). Whenever a Heat player hits a 3, I have to mute my TV.

Rick Nash is reportedly on the trading block. There were Columbus scouts at both Flyers games this past weekend. Paul Holmgren was seen having a lengthy conversation with Scott Howson. Naturally, there are a lot of Flyers fans and writers trying to put two and two together... Homer, don't even think about it. For the love of god, no.

Don't have a favorite, but on this topic, I am so annoyed that the Sixers replaced my man Matt Cord this year. His replacement is awful.
-
Closer than it should have been, but I will take it.

I don't feel bad for them. They had an awful offseason IMO. Mostly because of the signings they made (Reyes, Bell, Buehrle) as opposed to the ones they didn't (Cespedes, Pujols).

Will 6ers hold tight at trade deadline?
Phightins replied to Need4Sheed's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
I don't want anything major. We are winning on depth. If we trade for a major piece, we will be sacrificing major depth. I mean, obviously if it's somebody like Dwight Howard, you have to consider, but since that isn't happening, I'd rather just roll with the roster we have. -

Poor Marlins

Another loss to the Rangers, another good player injured (Voracek), and a trip to Detroit tomorrow, where the Wings haven't lost in like 5 years. Happy times in Flyerville.

Chris Lee [expletive]ing sucks.

Nah, was hardly a throw-in. Wasn't nearly as advanced as Drabek when that trade happened, but the sick potential has always been there. And Tyson Gillies, the prize of that amazing Cliff Lee to Seattle deal, is the deaf one.
