Basically. Isn't it funny that every year, there is always soooooo much bitching about the rosters, and then once the game rolls around I always think "seriously who cares?". It was like watching a men's league game.

Always a cool event. Watching NHL Network right now. They showed a shot of the white board with the lineups, and I noticed that Scott Hartnell is playing with the Sedins. LOL. Now I am pretty excited.

Even if he never plays another game, he is the best player I have ever seen, by a large margin. I despise him when the Flyers are facing him, but the league is obviously a significantly better product if he is healthy and dominating.

Hunter Pence and the team agreed to a $10.4 million salary for next season, per Jon Heyman. Seems fair. I would think the next step is a long-ish term extension. I am hoping that Amaro doesn't pull an Amaro and go overboard, since honestly I am not totally sold on Pence as a long term stud yet. Also, Juan Pierre signs a minor league deal with an invite to spring training. I can get down with that. And with that, I would imagine that the Phillies offseason is just about complete. All ARB players have now been taken care of (or traded away). Wouldn't shock me if they continue to go bargain hunting on relief pitching/utility infielding and bring a couple more vets into camp on minor league deals. Otherwise, I think the roster is basically set. This will be my final post of the 2011 thread!

Wow. So, Thad hurt himself a bit earlier and had to go to the locker room. And Elton is sitting on 5 fouls. With Hawes and Vucevic out and Battie probably worn down already, Lavoy Allen was playing center for a while. That, uh, did not go well. Jodie was the 3 and Andre was the 4. Talk about a small lineup.

Sixers were absolutely dreadful that half, yet are still up 2. The absence of Hawes is as visible tonight as ever.

Early chatter is that Cabrera will be moved back to 3B. Probably not necessary this season though, with Victor Martinez done for the year. Miggy and Prince can take turns at 1B/DH.
