Jaime Garcia would have been on regular rest tonight (not to mention he's a way tougher matchup on the Phillies than Carp). Carp would have been on 5 days rest for game 3. Don't get why there was such a rush to get Carp into the series. La Russa being La Russa. His players bailed him out tonight for sure.

Yeah, his 3 innings of getting rocked sure was the reason they won, you're right.

As Cliff Lee would say, "whatever". Get 'em in St. Louis.

My main point with the BABIP is that Lee was very, very good tonight and despite the run/hit total, he deserves none of the blame if the Phillies lose.

And, within baseball, there is a great deal of luck involved. BABIP shows that.

That was a very un-Lidge appearance. And I mean that in a great way.

Seriously, the Cardinals have put 19 balls in play and 11 have fallen in for hits. Arguably 2 of them were "well struck". Nothing else Lee could have done.

Because he hasn't pitched poorly. He is getting absolutely raped by these chicken shit bloops. The options in the bullpen, outside of Madson, are not good.

The Cardinals have a BABIP closing in on .600 for this game. Seriously.

Even though he gave up 3 runs, Doc really only made one bad pitch. And Lohse was tossing junk all game even before he finally got lit up. Would have been frustrating as hell if that Berkman HR wound up being the difference in a Cardinals W.
