The Marlins suck. I really hope Logan Morrison wins his grievance. What a joke of an organization.

This is the first time he has been DFAd. He has been optioned/recalled more times than I can count though. However, this was apparently some weird technical issue regarding his contract. He has since been re-instated to the 40-man. Very odd. Too technical for me.

Expectations for Evan Turner
Phightins replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
As a whole, I guess you could call the season a disappointment. He showed major improvement in the second half though. -
A 6 man rotation is apparently a real possibility. At first thought, I like the idea. Especially with this Cole Hamels "dead arm" scare. No reason for unnecessary innings.
-
Raul Ibanez...all kinds of fail these days.

2011-2012 New England Patriots And 49er's Thread

This is the main thing I took away from the Eagles game. -
Just to re-iterate....I got an AMAZING deal!! 4 tickets (lower level, $95 face value for each), parking pass for the lot right next to the stadium, and shipping for $115 total!! Just filled the cooler up with beer and I am ready to go! Never been this fired up for a preseason football game.

You going Smitty? I will be there...got a hell of a deal on eBay.
-
Shouldn't you be pissed at the Giants for not bringing him back? They had every chance, from what I have read.
-
Oh hey Steve Smith :glasses: (sorry Kyle). May come in handy in the second half of the season. Whenever he gets healthy.

Stretch of 20 games in 20 days complete. 16-4 (9-1 west coast trip). This team is incredible.
-
Going to the game tomorrow night, yay!

I am soooo happy that the Phillies did not trade for Chad Qualls. Hard to believe he was kind of sought-after a few months ago.
-
I hear ya. And it's certainly possible. I am just not really following the comparison to Feeley is all.
-
Kolb can only be compared to Feeley in that way if he tanks in Arizona, which is just an assumption on your part. Other than that, I don't see much of a comparison. Kolb was a 2nd round pick, which would suggest that scouts/NFL teams think he has talent and he is expected to play well when he finally gets his chance. Seems like NFL people still agree with this, at least based on the price the Cardinals paid to get him. Feeley was never really expected to produce much. When he did, it was a surprise, and when he fell back to earth, it was certainly less of a surprise.

Hm, wonder which third basemen might be available through waivers... Casey Blake? No idea other than that. Placido Polanco has a sports hernia...
-
I hate 10pm EST starts when I have work at 6 the following morning. Phillies just scored in the first, though. 1-0 lead vs. the Dodgers with Roy Halladay pitching. Safe to go to bed?
-
Haha, Dan Carcillo is awesome. Calls out the Canucks in his introductory news conference. I bet Blackhawk fans love him already (and this is why we loved him here).
-
Oh, Ramirez and Whiteside fined. That makes it better... Placido Polanco also fined. Apparently getting grabbed by the knees and wrestled to the ground by a catcher jumping up and down like a clown is a fine-able suspense, these days.
-
3 games for Victorino, nothing for Whiteside or Ramirez. Ridiculous. Although, I guess letting the Giants keep Eli Whiteside in their lineup is punishment enough...

JVZ agrees.

I wouldn't write off the Eagles linebackers quite this easily. Definitely the biggest question mark. But it would not shock me at all to see Jamar Chaney have a breakout year. I wouldn't mind seeing one more guy added via trade or free agency or w/e though. Interesting. But considering that he will probably get 6 or 7 carries a game if he is lucky (and that's being generous), I am not sure what the big deal is here. It's not like they are signing him to be the primary back.
-
What was that? I can't hear you all the way up here at the top of the MLB standings.

Tim Lincecum is good at pitching baseballs.
