Heck of a first inning for Ryan Howard. Strikes out with the bases loaded and nobody out in the top half, then costs the team at least 1 (arguably 2) runs in the bottom half with more of his horrific fielding. I have long been a major supporter of his, but his rapid regression is starting to wear thin. But hey, the good news is that his 5 year $125 million extension doesn't kick in until NEXT season! Oh joy.

Kyle Kendrick throws 8 shutout innings at Coors Field. Things I did not expect to see tonight (or ever).

I got that feeling all the time in high school after classes I enjoyed. In college, not at all.

And now Ryan Harris signs... Can the Eagles go 15 minutes without making a roster move?

Shane Victorino is having a sickkk year. .304/.379/.528, 17 doubles, 12 triples, 10 homeruns, 15/18 SB. 5.0 WAR (top 10 in entire MLB, regardless of position). And 7.0 UZR at a premium position. What a beast.

Ronnie Brown has obviously seen better days, but they could do way worse than him for a 3rd down back. Now just sign a veteran linebacker and a veteran safety (both for depth) and call it one hell of an offseason.

Kyle Kendrick vs. Aaron Cook at Coors Field. This has 4 hour game written all over it.

Love the Phillies approach vs. Jhoulys Chacin (and similar pitchers). The dude can't throw a strike regularly, so lets just swing at everything regardless!

With Bourn and Pence gone, is the current Astros lineup one of the worst of the past few decades? Methinks it is.

As usual, Big Chuck is clueless with his pitching staff management. Leaves Cliff Lee in an inning too long, and as a result this game is 2 runs closer than it should be.

Cullen Jenkins signed. Talk about stacked... I feel pretty spoiled right now.

And sure enough, they are insane!

Brown needs to be playing every day. So it will either be in Lehigh or here. He just brings so much more "upside" than Ibanez. The good news is that a Brown-Victorino-Pence OF for 2012 is pretty nice.

Probably, although I wouldn't mind him hitting 3rd (and Utley 2nd). Either works. The Phillies are insane if Brown goes to AAA and Ibanez stays in the starting lineup, btw. Not sure if I made that clear enough. Unfortunately, this is probably what will happen.

Well don't get me wrong, I am very happy to have him. He is a great fit in this lineup, and it sets the outfield up perfectly for next year and beyond, when Ibanez leaves. But it is still a huge overpayment. Kind of like the Ilya Bryzgalov deal with the Flyers. Very happy to have him, just not for the cost.

And more concerning, a .370 BABIP this season. Has regression written all over him. The worst part is he will take Brown's ABs, not Ibanez's. So that limits the potential upside here.
