Are Smitty and I seriously the only two Eagles fans left??? Anyway, today was a busy day. Traded Kevin Kolb to Arizona for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a 2nd round pick. Very very happy with the return. I still think Kolb will be an above average QB, but it's hard to argue with this trade. Awesome haul. And Jason Babin signed for semi-big money. Not sure how I feel about this. I realize he was very good last season, but meh, wasn't my top choice. Also, David Akers signed with the 49ers. Makes sense. Eagles used a very high pick on Alex Henery, so had to figure Akers was a goner. Still sucks to see, though. Akers has been here for my entire tenure as an Eagles fan. And finally, Vince Young apparently wants to sign here. Here is to a good season!!

Was at PHI/SFG. Cain vs. Hamels didn't really disappoint.

And the Mets are definitely getting Zack Wheeler for Beltran. Congrats Fish, definitely the best offer the Mets could have gotten for 3 months of Beltran. Of course, the Mets have to eat a significant chunk of the remaining money. Now I am super excited the Phillies didn't try to match.

I am now kind of on the Hunter Pence bandwagon. As long as Brown and Cosart are not part of the deal (I see no way Brown is, but Cosart possibly could be). If the Phillies are going to trade a big prospect(s), I'd prefer not to trade them in the division (Mets-Beltran). Similarly, it would be nice to have a corner outfielder under contract for next season when Ibanez is gone. Getting Pence would put the Phillies over the luxury tax threshold though, which makes me think they won't go for it.
