RIP Stephen Drew's leg. Amazing. Back to back plays in the same game, two season ending injuries (well, this is just speculation, but both injuries looked bad). Talking about Drew and Carlos Gomez, who looks like he broke his collar bone.

I will be sitting upstairs. $17 a game. Awesome deal. For the past few seasons, I have gotten the same seats for $15 per game, but since this is the "big games" plan, the seats are a bit pricier. And it would be much, much more for the Laker game. They will be lucky to draw 12 or 13K to the Minny game, even though it is the season opener. Meanwhile, the Lakers game is one of the five or six guaranteed sell outs of the season. Lower bowl tickets are expensive regardless of the game, and you will probably have to get them through the secondary market for the Laker game. So they will be expensive.

Jon Heyman proves yet again that he is the dumbest national baseball reporter out there (re: Beltran): Hello Jon...The Phillies wouldn't trade Brown for Roy Halladay, even with a contract extension for Doc basically guaranteed. They are not trading him for a 3-month rental of a non-elite outfielder (or a 3 month rental of any player, for that matter). With that said...if the Phillies DO wind up trading Dom Brown for 3 months of Carlos Beltran, I will put some serious thought into finding a new team to support. But anyway, I would love to get Beltran. I believe he may be the "final piece" to this puzzle. I am even willing to say that I'd make all prospects not named Jarred Cosart fair game.

Of all the big names rumored to be on the trade block, he's the only one that I think would provide a huge upgrade and that I am willing to pay up for. The Mets are apparently willing to pay his entire salary in exchange for good prospects. I'd prefer to pay the entire salary and keep the prospects, but I am guessing the Mets would want a ton from the Phillies. As they should.

Yeah, lets get back on track. Why did you pick the Pirates to win the division? Even if they do win it this year, you will be lucky. They are the 4th best team in that division. So, chances are they won't win it and this will be a moot point. But still.

What was your reasoning for picking them then? Especially last year. I want to hear this.

If you actually did predict that, then you are just lucky. The Pirates are definitely getting better, but there is no way they should be winning this division. That said, it's pretty awesome.

The best news about today is Danys Baez got rocked yet again. Have to think he is getting DFA'd when Victorino or Lidge is ready to come back...
