I suppose it is pretty cool that Doc is starting the All Star Game. However, I wish he wasn't starting because the starters are required to pitch a minimum of 2 innings. I'd rather see him get the rest.

To be honest, I feel like this has gotten more boring each year for the past 5 years or so. Used to love it, and this year I will probably barely watch any of it (well, that's a lie, I will still watch...). My only thought is that they [expletive]ed up by leaving out one of Chris Young/Justin Upton.

Obviously, it is a business. And ESPN is a very successful one. We get that. Doesn't make it any less aggravating though. For the record, I don't really hate ESPN. There is just so much of it that I could do without. Anybody remember SportsCenter from like, 10-15 years ago? It was great. Now they put way too much emphasis on the "entertainment" part of the name.

Yep. Pretty amazing how "under the radar" he is. Such an awesome career, yet he is rarely mentioned with the all time greats. A .961 OPS over 21 seasons is incredible.

Fredi Gonzalez seems pretty incompetent, to be completely honest. Why is George Sherrill pitching to a right handed batter with the bases loaded/game on the line in extra innings when there is a perfectly fine Craig Kimbrel still available? As a Phillies fan, I certainly don't mind. But Jesus..

Juan Perez with the 9 pitch, 3 strikeout inning. Not a fluke either. He was ripping off some filthy sliders.

My concern is that they are already losing money, and now they will lose more since they need to lease Wells Fargo Center. Didn't need to do this when owned by Comcast since Comcast owns WFC too. Also, all signs point to this being strictly an investment in a struggling company. Maybe we will all be wrong, and maybe David Harris will be the next Mark Cuban. There is no way of knowing. But if he is just in this to make a buck (he is buying very low), then it doesn't look too good.

Placido Polanco has a "bulging disk" in his back. Not going on the DL though. I really hope this has nothing to do with the all star game (not putting him on the DL). We could really use an extra body on the 25 man roster if he is not going to be contributing this weekend.
