Thrashers officially moving to Winnipeg. Feel awful for the Thrashers fans. Can't even imagine what it would be like to have one of my teams ripped away like that, especially as abruptly as this was.

I enjoyed it. Just manage your expectations. To the people calling it out for being unoriginal or for lacking complexity or whatever, what exactly were you expecting? Just curious..

Weird. I had heard that they have done a great job keeping up with it over the years. Not sure why I have it so high, kind of random I know. But i'd really like to see it for some reason. And PNC is gorgeous. In a really pretty area too. Also, I have found that Comerica Park is super underrated. Maybe my 2nd favorite non-Philadelphia park that I have been to behind PNC. Detroit obviously sucks, but that little block of land where Comerica and Ford Field is located is like a diamond in the rough.

^^I would argue that he is a monster already. Not looking forward to seeing the Phillies face him for the next decade. Hoping the Marlins pull a Marlins when it comes time to pay him... In other news, the Diamondbacks are now leading the NL West. And when you think about it, it's not that crazy. Easily the best team in that division on paper right now, IMO. Especially with Posey down. Just kind of odd to think of that.

Never been. I already have my expectations all lined up, though. Similar to the first time I went to Yankee Stadium. I know it's a dump, but I feel like it is something I need to do as a baseball fan/historian, haha.

Vance's first real stinker in the Majors. Was bound to happen at some point I guess. Marginal stuff, so can't expect greatness every time. Defense didn't exactly help him in that first inning, either. Also, epic lulz @ these lineups. For a second I thought I was watching Buffalo vs. Lehigh Valley! Guess Bisons>Iron Pigs .

Hotels are gross. I work at one (a nice, well-known one too). It only took me about three days working there to realize I never want to stay at a hotel as a guest again. Lots of [expletive]ed up stories.

The "WOW" portion of that statement is the fact that Endy Chavez hit one of them.

Hard to pick against the Canucks. Better team on paper, even better now with Malhotra cleared to play. I think it will be more competitive than a lot of people are saying, though. A lot of people are calling for the Canucks in a rout, and I just don't see it, especially if Boston's defense can be as suffocating as they were in game 7 vs Tampa. Right now, I will say Canucks in 7. But with as unpredictable as the NHL postseason is, I really have no idea and I don't think anybody else does either.

He sucks now. But it would have been very Phillies-like to get shut down by someone of his ilk.

And Chris Capuano strikes out the side in the 1st. This is promising.

I have seen this mentioned in a few places, but I think it's mostly just speculation/a pipe dream for Phillies fans. Well, it does make a bit of sense. The Phillies probably need another (preferably right handed) bat in the outfield and Ruben Amaro never stands pat when he has a clear need (but I kind of suspect that this time he will look for a less expensive option...we'll see). Also Pence is starting to get too expensive for the Astros, especially considering they are going into a full blown rebuild. Plus the Phillies have been ripping Ed Wade off left and right ever since he took the Astros job, so maybe they will give it another shot. Somebody with ESPN actually suggested that the Phillies would trade Domonic Brown and Jarred Cosart for Pence, which is pretty ridiculous haha. I would love to get Pence, but not for nearly that price. We'll see though. But while we are on the topic, a lineup of Rollins Utley Polanco Howard Pence Brown Victoriono Ruiz makes me sooooo hard.
