Yes, the Flyers have a reputation as the dirtiest team in NHL history. Probably true, but it won't stop me from complaining when I see shit happen like I saw last night. And on a side note, this Flyers team is easily the softest in my lifetime, especially when Pronger and Shelley are not in the lineup. I have seen a lot of teams take liberties against us this year (way more than I have ever seen before). Maybe the dawn of a new era... And FYI the Richards elbow should have been a 2 minute minor, not a 5 minute major. That was what had me so upset last night. The elbow hit Kaleta's head, so obviously a call had to be made. But it was in self defense because Kaleta charged him. There was no intent to injure (ala the Richards elbow on David Booth). Absolutely not a major.

*Tips hat to Ryan Miller* The Sabres are dirty as hell.

Referees just lost control of this game. Absolute [expletive]ing joke. And go suck a dick Kaleta, [expletive]ing bitch.

This game is so [expletive]ing annoying. Carcillo has already gotten 2 reputation calls. And Ryan Miller is really good. The good news is that JvR is a monster. Finally is the legit power forward I hoped for when we drafted him. Total beast tonight and this whole series really.

Rofl @ the "can you hear us?" chant.

There are way too many penalties being called all around the league.

You didn't laugh at that at all? I miss Andy Martino . Wish he was still in Philly.

Got a nice sunburn to show for it, but today turned out to be a solid day at the park. Always amazes me to see the elite pitchers when they don't have their best stuff. Cliff Lee was fighting it today, but was still better than most pitchers are with their best stuff. Kept us within striking distance.

WOW what an insane game in LA. Sharks crazy comeback, Kings crazy collapse, however you'd like to look at it.
-
Pronger still out for game 4. Zherdev will stay in for Nodl.

I am pretty pissed I have missed most of this series. Thanks to a combo of work/the Flyers always being at the same time. If I did see more than 30 seconds of this entire series, I'd be more than happy to chat about it with you. I don't see how calling you out for being a hypocrite makes me a "retard", but whatever.

The Angels DFA'd Brandon Wood today. Amazing how far a one-time elite prospect has fallen. Just shows how unpredictable baseball is. Also, I know he is 25 and time may be running out, but I would absolutely love to see the Phillies take a flier on him. Just sayin'.

Kind of like that time you made a generalization about American hockey fans?
-
Hard to put a 9-0 loss all on the manager (impossible actually), but I am just really pissed that he took Doc out with McGehee coming up and brought in Herndon. You don't take him out in the middle of the inning unless he asks to come out, especially in that situation.

Charlie Manuel having an absolutely brutal season thus far managing the bullpen/bench.

What? You must have missed my point.

They need to get other big time sporting events on Versus (or w/e the new name will be). Otherwise, it will still just be some random network buried among other random channels. The issue is attracting other American sports fans who are impartial to hockey. They won't go out of their way to see a game on Versus. A new name should help, but I am not sure how much.

It was on ESPN pre-lockout. I wasn't really into sports business back then so I don't remember all of the specifics. But when they came back from the lockout, they got the new deal with NBC and Versus. The biggest issue was that the lockout did a ton of damage to the league's popularity in many parts of the country, and the lack of a deal with a mainstream sports network didn't help rebuild it. A deal with ESPN would be great mostly because of the extra commercials and spots on SportsCenter. As of now, all the NHL gets is a 5 second spot for "highlights" at the end of the show. And obviously, the games would be available to more people.

Lou Williams and Thad Young each finish in the top 6 for sixth man of the year (Thad was 3rd, Lou 6th). Not bad.

I like the new format Taylor! Very pretty.

Well, apparently Versus will be rebranded this summer. It will get a new name (something NBC related). So I guess that's a bit better than what they have now, but the league could really use the ESPN exposure.
