These aren't freestyles. These are actual songs off of his album. He did the same thing at the Twitter offices today. I didn't check to see if he did the same songs or not.
-
Yeah. Nas has also mentioned J. Cole a few times in separate interviews and cosigned him. Cole has said multiple times that one of his dreams is to produce a track for Nas. It would be sick.

I would be shocked if J. Cole didn't produce a song or have a verse on the album.

Hornets Hire Former Spurs VP Demps as GM
kadillak replied to Art's topic in New Orleans Pelicans Team Forum
Expect Demps to be named the new GM of the Hornets. From what I've heard, he chose us over Phoenix. Pritchard is who I wanted, but this guy was right behind him. I'm excited about this hire. -
I don't either. My favorite artists can't freestyle. Not many people can these days. Even the legends have been using recycled verses / verses off of throwaway tracks for years for their "freestyles". I only brought that up because this guy was hinting that Drake is better than Wayne by posting a fail of a freestyle by Wayne when Drake can't do any better. It's a flawed argument.
-
Iight bruh, I know Wayne can't freestyle, but neither can Drake so bringing that up to say one is better than the other is a fail in itself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhG6jh-xwFI "I say..uh...uhh..I say suhh...that's when I say uhh" WTF is that? "I say uh...ah man...this off of the top...then is how I gotta go out".. LMAO Spoof is right on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-j6Z_Loxw4 Anyway, "Fly In", "Fly Out", "Tha Mobb", "Don't Cry", "Tie My Hands", "Somethin' You Forgot", "Gossip", and "Misunderstood" are all sick, sick Wayne songs.
-
Both are pretty awful now, but Wayne is my choice and it's not even close. Drake will probably never put out anything near TCII's level.
-
He's going to be in Louisiana this fall for this major annual event we have with a lot of artists. Eminem was here last year, but unfortunately I couldn't make it out there. Not gonna head out there to see Drake.

I've basically given up on our front office. Nobody knows what they are doing. Until Chouest becomes the owner and the house is cleaned, I have no hope in our franchise. It's pathetic.

The Adventures of Bobby Ray was a whole lot more creative (though comparative to Andre 3K) and B.o.B was a whole lot more involved with the actual production and composition of the album than Ross was with Teflon Don. Plus, B.o.B's album had better lyrical content by a good bit, IMO, as far as the messages he had in some of his songs even though his style isn't too sophisticated. It's a pretty close comparison, but I'd definitely give TAOBR the advantage over Teflon Don.
-
The album is most definitely mainstream. Rick Ross is a mainstream artist. Any common person who listens to hip hop on the radio knows who Ross is and can name several songs by him or with him on it. There's at least two songs that will likely get radio play from this album alone. That's mainstream. Revolutions Per Minute, Distant Relatives, How I Got Over, Recovery, and probably The Adventures of Bobby Ray are all better albums that have been released so far this year, IMO.

Very solid mainstream album. "Free Mason" is pretty sick, and I love the production on "Maybach Music III". No sir.
-
Guess I'll listen to this even though I didn't like his stuff when I saw him and person and when I listened to his stuff back when he was doin' stuff with Wayne on YM. A lot of people said they like it, so I'll give it a spin when I get my laptop.
-
Good stuff. It's shaping up to be a pretty good mainstream album. Love Maybach Music III, especially the production on it. Jay Z has been spittin' some consistently good stuff lately (minus Under Pressure...which isn't finished). Maybe J. Cole gave him flashbacks of his old self.
-
No, no it's not. I'm with HHH on this one. This track is maybe a good mainstream song, but there's too say this song is very lyrical is quite out of line. Throw this up against Fashawn, J. Cole, Blu, Doom just to name a few and there's nothing gold about it. Man, I like Cudi, actually have a physical copy of his debut album, listen to him on a regular basis, but this song isn't deep, especially for his standards.

Black Milk's album will probably be the best one dropping on that day.

Sorry, I laughed throughout the entire video and couldn't pay much attention to the lyrics. Interesting character. Horrid hook. Probably will fail.

Rick Ross, Curren$y & Wiz Khalifa: Super High Remix
kadillak replied to Flash's topic in Music Forum
Does Wiz have any material with meaning? Only heard a few songs from him and couldn't stand 'em because it seemed like all he talked about was smokin' and Taylor Gang over everything or whatever. Kinda liked G'd Up from the XXL mixtape, but that was mostly for the beat and hook. If he's got some lyrical stuff, then I'll give those projects a look, but I'm unimpressed from the small sample I have from him thus far. -
Rick Ross, Curren$y & Wiz Khalifa: Super High Remix
kadillak replied to Flash's topic in Music Forum
Saw Curren$y in New Orleans a couple of weeks back with J. Cole and Juvenile. I just can't get into him for whatever reason. I'm going to try to get into his stuff more, especially knowing the guys he's in with in the industry. Khalifa, on the other hand, I will never be a fan of. Just don't get the big deal about him. -
I think Fashawn's album "Boy Meets World" could possibly be considered a classic in a few years. I don't really feel like comparing it to older albums or arguing it's legitimacy -- it's simply one of my absolute favorite albums of all-time. Great production from Exile, good narrative skills from Fashawn, good content and messages throughout, and good features headed by Blu. Just my personal opinion. Either way, you couldn't call it a true classic right now. Like J. Cole said in an interview, it's not about first week sales or anything like that -- it's if people will remember your album and bump 5, 10 years down the road. If your album was a major seller, but nobody is playing it anymore, the album didn't do its job. The goal is for an album to be timeless.

Yeah, this was pretty brutal.
-
Not a chance, IMO. "A Star Is Born" is really the only song I like lyrically simply because it's cool to see a big name give props to other big names and give credit where credit is due. Also it was a good concept to get J. Cole a platform to show his skills and Cole did work. Sure, I enjoy going back and listening to "Already Home", "Empire State of Mind", and "Run This Town" from time to time, but those songs don't hold up to "Going Through Changes", "Space Bound", "Talkin' To Myself", "You're Never Over", or the genius behind the double meaning of "Seduction". That's just my opinion.

Fashawn, Nas/Damian Marley, Reflection Eternal, TiRon, and Eminem's album Now The Roots. B.o.B's solid mainstream album. A few J. Cole tracks. Murs dropped something, but I haven't had a chance to listen. A lot of people like PackFM's album. etc.

Thanks for the heads up. Listened to the sampler two days ago and it sounds like the album of the year, IMO, and that's saying a lot with all of this year's good music.
