  1. For the record, I am forever grateful to Reggie for his effect on Lopez in practices ever since he got here, getting a lot of the softness out of him. I am also grateful to him for his efforts in games where he understood what he is capable of doing and played within his ability. What happened to that Reggie is beyond me. Since mid-December, he has been a frequent disaster. PJ has donned him "emotional leader" of the team, and he is accountable for none of the awful decisions he makes. Even when he isn't doing anything obviously stupid, just his being on the floor turns the game into a 4-on-5 (frequently 3-on-5 when Wallace is also on the floor, though some of that has to do with PJ's misuse of him), and teams can double off of him to ruin our spacing. Chances are I would not dislike him as much if he played fifteen minutes a game on average. But the reality is that Humphries should be getting minutes over him, since he can rebound and not be a total black hole on offense. Also, Evans' getting minutes stands in the way of Mirza's development, and that seriously angers me. And who could forget Reggie running his mouth before the Miami game to get LeBron and company fired up, before proceeding to contribute nothing to the game and dodging the media afterwards. That night summed up my dislike of him in a nutshell.
  2. Late March: perfect time to do away with the 189 plan and make a desperation move for a player in rapid decline. Idiots.
  3. http://games.espn.go.com/fba/boxscorefull?leagueId=11132&teamId=1&scoringPeriodId=140&seasonId=2013&view=scoringperiod&version=full Check out who I benched. First week of fantasy playoffs too.
  4. Reggie's foul trouble forced PJ to play Blatche and Lopez together (something he said he was going to do last week and probably wouldn't have done today if Reggie didn't hit four fouls). To no one's surprise (except PJ's, probably), it worked beautifully. PJ said he may consider using it for "a few matchups" in the playoffs. Idiot.
  5. Several hundred fans grouped together behind the Nets bench to support the team in Philly tonight. Probably the strongest road support this team has ever gotten in a single game. Great response on the floor by the team. Pathetic effort.
  6. Devastating. I figured it would be tough for him to avoid knee issues before the contract expired, but it's a huge shame that he wasn't able to stay on the floor through this year's campaign.

  10. Harlan, Breen, and Eagle are my three favorite play-by-play guys around the league. I've listened to a lot of opponent broadcasts, and maybe it's just a matter of listening to certain TV announcers for an extended period of time, but I am not drawn toward too many of the other callers around the league. Eagle is spectacular for both a Brooklyn fan or opponent's fan watching YES coverage. YES has a great group of announcers: Eagle/Ruocco on play-by-play and Anthony/Spanarkel/Fratello for color. Nothing beats the Eagle/Fratello combination. Wish they'd use it more.
  11. PJ sucks. Reggie sucks. D-Will is a baller when his ankles are feeling good. Hooray for cortisone shots.
  12. Saw the Doug Collins post-game presser. Holding little back with his frustrations.
