  1. Derek Jeter Jorge Posada Mariano Rivera Andy Pettitte Mark Teixeira/Josh Hamilton
  2. The umpires made three incorrect calls that went against us today: 1) Jeter called out stealing third base in the first inning (though I don't know why he was stealing with no outs) 2) Aaron Hill being called safe on what should have been a force out, followed by a Rios 3-run home run 3) Hinske being called out at second on a force when the fielder's foot was on the bag, we could have had bases loaded with no outs. Joba has yet to get a win in Yankee Stadium, and Pettitte has a win-loss pattern going. Wang's hurt, so Hughes or Aceves will need to leave our bullpen to join the rotation. Burnett and Sabathia cover 2 good days out of every 5, but our other 3 guys need to be solid as well. I hope our bullpen stays strong with Hughes/Aceves leaving. Albaladejo was called up, so maybe he can be a helping hand for our relief pitching.
  3. And even more impressive, 8 runs were scored after there were two outs and no one on base.
  4. Final six games for New York before entering the All-Star break. The Angels series will be the Yankees first series on the West coast. CC Sabathia (7-5, 3.85) - Scott Baker (6-6, 4.99), 8:10 EST AJ Burnett (7-4, 3.83) - Glen Perkins (4-4, 4.38), 8:10 EST
  5. I knew Matt Cain was an effective pitcher, but I had no idea he'd be this dominant. Giants pitching has been great, starting with Lincecum and Cain.
  6. The Nets are being shot with financial troubles, and Ratner may just end up selling the team before the 2011 season. According to rumors, possible buyers want the Nets to stay in Jersey.
  7. Uh, what? My point is that a team like this should not be repeating mistakes, especially when they're the mistakes I mentioned above.
  8. When we win, we are a solid team. When we lose, we are absolutely flat and lifeless, and I feel like punching the TV screen. 1) An error leads to a loss, again. 2) The top third of our lineup goes 1-12. 3) Some of our hitters hardly ever go deep into the count. It seems like the same story in every loss.
  9. Well sometimes location and money do play a role. You don't think that the idea of signing with a team whose money is going down the drain and being spent on a place where they're not even guaranteed to play will be a factor in the minds of these players? Plus, I doubt LeBron would want to sign with the Nets if it meant playing in Jersey the first year.
  10. It's a disappointment, from his point of view, to have to take a big step back in terms of a shot at a championship, but I'm sure he'll put it behind him soon enough. Guys like CDR and Lopez may no longer have a mentor, but it was a similar case with Portland's group, and they were still quite impressive. We won't necessarily do that well, but it's just the same idea.

  12. We go 4-4 with RISP after starting of 0-10. Great offensive support, and it's great to see that the eighth inning was started off by the bottom 3 hitters in our lineup. And thanks to the improbable comeback by Baltimore, we are now 2.5 games back of Boston.
  13. Bruney's been a little shaky in recent outings. He gave up a run in Atlanta, walked a couple against the Mets, and now he gave up two runs today.
  14. That was absolutely crushed. I was starting to wonder how a pitcher with an ERA of 5 1/2 could totally overpower us. A-Rod's also been making some nice plays at 3B. He's getting closer and closer to being his full self every game.
  15. Mine's not as bad as Jeet's. The two columns are just shifted a bit, but I think that's what everyone's looks like. I have 3.0.11 also. http://i43.tinypic.com/2iargxz.jpg
  16. This would be a nightmare. I was aware that there were 103 players, but I did not imagine it being this set of players. I think I'd rather have Boston's championships clean than have this list true.
  17. Yankees Trade for Eric Hinske Full Article Nice addition, considering Nady's small chances of returning this year.
  18. 1) Thorn and Kiki are not newbies, they have had a purpose for all their moves. 2) Who ever said this is about LeBron? Are you aware that we have a new arena being built and are in severe financial trouble? And are you aware that 2010 means more than LeBron? 3) Are you aware of VC's age and contract? Are you aware of Courtney Lee's young age and reasonable contract? 4) Are you aware that Harris and Dooling have had health problems, and should there be injuries, Alston, who's been a starter for Orlando and Houston, will be there to help? Last year, Carter was our PG when both those guys were injured. 5) We just added three players who just made it to the Finals to a group of guys with limited experience. 6) If Boone isn't the backup center we want him to be, we have Battie. This is not some blind salary dump. The Nets had more than one reason for this deal going down.
  19. Audio There's a full transcript coming soon, but here are some highlights for now: Link
  20. And I found Hayes' shot selection to be significantly better than Simmons'. Simmons tended to fire up 3's whenever he had the opportunity, including vital parts in games.
