  1. I watched the final inning of Mets' Encore for Thursday night's game. Wow. Three one-strike-away ABs (one with a foul tip), a ricochet off Pap that bounced in an inconvenient direction, and a bloop single. Rough.
  2. http://d1oi94rh653f1l.cloudfront.net/10/pictures/large/bdaa877959550ed0db447ca7ea905c6e_27102311.jpg
  3. Ahem. Whether or not he lands in Brooklyn, I told you this drama would return.
  4. Video tribute by Caja Laboral, his former team. "Homage to our captain, Mirza Teletovic"
  5. Good news: he's actually not taking the full MLE. Edit: He's taking the taxpayer's MLE, so a Howard trade is still possible, and the Nets could re-sign Gerald Green for around $2 million.

  7. Surrendering a pick en route to taking on an ugly contract makes little sense to me. But what's done is done. At least we'll be good again, one way or another. On Atlanta's end, Josh Smith trade may be necessary in the near future. And they'll have a load of cap space in 2013.
  8. Friend from Philly is taking me to the Braves game this Saturday. Looking forward to my first time at CBP.
  9. Tyshawn Taylor to the Nets. Looks like Farmar is opting out.
  10. Wondering if the Nets will show up at some point and trade for PJ3.
  11. I would've liked Phelps and Warren rather than Garcia and Warren, but I just hope we hang in there and the recoveries go smoothly.
  12. Perhaps you could explain to me why you continue to sarcastically use the phrase "religion of peace" when you know very well (through common sense and through the number of times I have explained) that Islam does not allow violence in this situation, cursing (ever), misinformation, among other things that occurred past the first five minutes that I watched. Whether or not it's the case, it seems like you try to get a rise out of certain people on here with that phrase. You know very well that for every sad story like this that gets spread to vilify Islam, there are numerous ones that obviously don't get much recognition, yet you continue to attach these sorts of occurrences to the label of Islam. The fact that parents raise their kids in such a manner to be in this sort of company at such a young age is shameful and disgusting. I've never seen anything of the sort in my community or in nearby communities. I'm a part of multiple youth groups, and we devote hours to community service, sports, and education. Religion of peace.
  13. King denied the report, though the Nets are still in the lead for Teletovic.
  14. With the assistance of Google Translate: Link He narrowed his choices down to Cleveland and Brooklyn and ultimately chose the Nets, who were reportedly his top choice when he originally began looking into the NBA. The Nets are fighting to bring Bojan Bogdanovic over as well, but the complexities of the contract he signed pre-2011 Draft are making it difficult to do that this summer.
  15. ... in unique fashion. http://blogimages.thescore.com/tbj/files/2012/06/deron-williams-birthday-sign.jpg --------------------------- It turns out that there was more than one sign! Link The Texas Rangers responded by trying to help out the Mavericks' effort. http://i.imgur.com/ptqNd.jpg
  16. Wow, the Cubs are his third organization already, no?
  17. Not to be outdone by Broussard, Magic had things to share with us today.
  18. If I'm not mistaken, leg cramps aren't any old cramps...
  19. In that case, shouldn't they have sent him down earlier?
  20. Now wouldn't that be awesome? Starters and bullpen have both been phenomenal. I am absolutely thrilled to see Pettitte pitching like it's 2010 (perhaps even better than that). I also did not expect Hughes to get back on track the way he did after several ugly starts. The one thing that has bothered me is the sending down of Phelps after not using him for weeks. The guy was consistently solid before he stopped getting innings. Granted, Eppley has been pretty good, but it made no sense to me why Girardi decided to stop utilizing Phelps. It's amusing that the Yankees have abandoned the idea of a LOOGY. Boone Logan is basically a regular reliever facing both righties and lefties, and he's done a nice job since Robertson went down.
  21. After a 14-inning battle, the Yankees win their first game this season without hitting a home run. The good times continue.
  22. One inning away from winning our first game this season without hitting a homer, and Grandy blasts one into the seats.
  23. I actually had no problem with most of Stern's All-Star Weekend interview, but this is awful. Whether or not there is a fix, Stern's getting defensive to that extent is 100% unwarranted. First, he takes a strong shot at Rome to display his apparent annoyance, then he proceeds to display a bad mood through the rest of the interview, and when Rome tries to patch up the awkwardness, Stern reignites it with the assertion that Rome has made a career out of cheap tricks. I am no fan of Rome, but he doesn't deserve much, if any, blame here.
