  1. Free agency is a bunch of chaos. Deal with it.
  2. There were Lopez for Josh Smith rumors up in the air several months ago, but I've read that the Nets would only give up Lopez for Howard.
  3. Brooks should definitely be starting at the 2 over Ammo. I see a lot of potential with him and Deron in the backcourt. Ammo, as of right now, can't create his own shot, but if Avery would just create plays in which the team sets him up for open shots rather than just handing the ball to him, he could be even better. James is great, but he himself is an uncertainty as to whether he is truly a starting 3. When you have fairly convenient options with RJ and AK47 on the market, I think we should go after them. They'd be cheaper role-fillers (especially RJ) than Crawford would be at SG.
  4. He most certainly can make a difference, but our focus has to remain on the frontcourt. We have gaping holes at both the 3 and the 4. If Nene is this close to signing with us, then hopefully it's just a matter of us finalizing a deal with him or chasing down Dwight. After that, we have to focus on bringing someone in to play SF. That would probably be a choice between RJ and Kirilenko.
  5. I say we avoid him. Our backcourt should basically be considered set, and although Crawford and D-Will seem to like the idea of being teammates, Deron specifically said that he sees Brooks as a Crawford-type player. Not worth giving big dollars to someone as old as Crawford when we have younger guys in MarShon and Ammo, both of whom have cheaper contracts.
  6. I didn't hear "amnesty clause." They're paying a portion of his contract for this season, I think.
  7. Dwight denied it, and Prokhorov was in Moscow five days ago. On the other hand, this is a pretty big claim for the Magic to be lying. Proving it may be very hard, but it could potentially create bad blood between the two teams with negotiations.
  8. Cuban shouldn't be criticized as much as the other owners. He was against the Landry/Thornton deal as well.
  9. Owner is the one who approves the deal, no? Basically, the league is going to make someone mad with just about any direction they take in this. There's a chance that the owners were truly against the deal because of Paul going to L.A., but it was just labeled as wrong because the Hornets don't have a real owner... or at least that's what I suspect.
  10. Alright then. I guess the one thing we can confirm is that Stern and the NBA are in a giant mess right now... as are the Hornets.
  11. The reason the deal was killed was that the Hornets don't have a legitimate owner, or at least that's how it's been labeled. There is some validity to the move, but there's still a lot that's messed up about it. 1) The league didn't address this issue during the lockout. 2) The Landry deal went down without a problem in February (which may indicate the real motives for pushing Stern to call it off). 3) The Hornets went through all the negotiations before finding out about this.
  12. Odom was in tears when talking to Stephen A Smith: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?s=espn Rewind to about 9:08 EST.
  13. The owners didn't veto a trade. They pressured Stern into calling it off. Owners felt it was wrong for a team without a legitimate owner to make a deal. It's why Cuban didn't like the Hornets making the trade around the deadline last February. If I'm not mistaken, this trade was called off by the NBA acting as the owners of the Hornets, not as executives of the league. They essentially blocked the trade of the franchise they own. Hornets need a new owner soon if they want to deal CP3.
