  1. Deron Williams will be talking to WFAN on Monday. Expect a lot of interesting questions and answers.
  2. I would love to see the 1972-1981 jerseys being worn this season: http://www.nba.com/nets/media/uniform_hist.jpg And these: http://content.sportslogos.net/logos/6/215/full/ekv7u26jeehq5g4z38qncxv7p.gif

  4. "I like this organization a lot. I like the direction they’re going. They made me and my family feel real comfortable since I’ve gotten here." "I like Coach Johnson — the way he coaches and the way he carries himself. I definitely can see myself staying here." "We’ve had a lot of open communication in a short period of time that I really like. And just the organization in general, how they handle themselves from top to bottom. I think everybody has just been great here and I like how things are run." After touring the Barclays Center: "This place will be a ballers' paradise!" "We got the young pieces, but we need some proven guys, some veterans that have been around that have won. That’s what we are going to try and accomplish in the off-season ... I am all about winning. I’m not really interested in being on a team that’s going to try and rebuild for years and years."
  5. Why come out now? Because they just negotiated a new CBA and Deron and Schwartz can clearly see how much more money he would make if he were to wait until the summer. This really isn't news. The main objective of this offseason is to begin acquiring the teammates that would convince Deron to stay.
  6. The drama has just begun. http://www.nola.com/hornets/index.ssf/2011/12/chris_paul_has_not_demanded_a.html
  7. So much for what? I would've been surprised if he signed the extension. He wants to see big names added... it's been understood for a while now.
  8. Don't worry, NESPN will be sure to leave Schilling, Garciaparra, and Dave O'Brien as the announcers for all Yankees-Sox games!
  9. Billy King denied interest, which is more than likely an attempt to direct attention away from the Killer B's activity. The rumored offer is probably just one to set the stage for negotiations. I don't think the Nets, or any of us, expect Orlando to be ready to deal Dwight until the trade deadline approaches unless they eye an unbeatable offer. Among the smaller contracts, I certainly hope we keep Ammo, especially since Dwight mentioned him among the players with whom he would like to play.
  10. #42 turned 42 today. Who knows whether 2012 will be his last season.
  11. You should see some of the tweets people sent him. Someone said they would throw their baby off the roof if he left. On one of his Youtube videos:
  12. Feels so weird making record predictions with 66 games. Too early to tell, though. Chances are we'll be looking to make a big splash before the season's start, particularly at the 3 and 4. If we do, I anticipate a playoff berth.
  13. Ouch... not the first time Stevie Johnson has dropped a potential game-winning reception.

  16. Not sure if an Amnesty Clause will still be in the plans for the new CBA and whether it will remove 100% of the salary amount from the cap, but it certainly looks like the Nets would use it as soon as they could to open up cap room.
  17. If you're making one banner, Barnes and Sully would be my choices.
  18. That's incredible. I read somewhere that Yankee Stadium was as loud as its ever been after Tino's game-tying blast, but by the sound of it, Brosius' HR the next day seemed to have a louder roar.
  19. Do you see yourself? http://oi41.tinypic.com/14cxob6.jpg
  20. Ten years ago today, the Yankees and Diamondbacks played in Game 4 of the 2001 World Series. Down 3-1 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Yankees were one out away from trailing the series 3-1. Tino Martinez was up with one man on base, and he hit a game-tying homer to centerfield, causing Yankee Stadium to erupt. The game went into extras, and the clock struck midnight... the first time baseball was ever played in November. Jeter came up to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the tenth and hit a game-winning solo shot into right field off Byung-Hyun Kim to tie the series at two games apiece.
  21. Yankees picked up Cano's and Swisher's options yesterday.
