Who are the top five Nets of all time?
Teletopez replied to Real Deal's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
I can't really say because I've never explored enough into the careers of players from previous decades. Petrovic is a possibility, depending on how you think his career could have continued. Kidd doesn't need much explanation for making it into the top five, carrying a group of decent players to the Finals and displaying amazing versatility. Carter was able to delay the collapse of a team by five years when it looked like it was sure to occur in '04-'05. -

Barclays Center Progress and Info
Teletopez replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Three apartment towers around the Barclays Center are in the plans by Forest City Ratner. According to NetsDaily, groundbreaking for one is expected before the end of the year. Not sure if it's been mentioned on here, but over the past couple of months, talks have been heating up about a potential NY Islanders to Barclays Center move. Nassau Coliseum has been considered obsolete for years now, and after a vote to build a new home for the Isles failed, discussions got serious. Brett Yormark and Bruce Ratner met with NHL officials a couple of weeks ago. Although the capacity would be significantly less for hockey, the NHL said they don't have a set minimum capacity. With the current seating arrangement, the sightlines for hockey are not great, but adjustments may be made. -

These pictures are from a conference by Gregg Pasquarelli, who is one of the founders of SHoP. You can see the theater-style lighting in the bowl (similar to MSG and Staples Center). You can also see in the third picture what I mentioned in the above post about light from inside shining through the weathered steel. http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff407/TheBronxBrooklyn/pasquarelli1.png http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff407/TheBronxBrooklyn/pasquarelli2.png http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff407/TheBronxBrooklyn/pasquarelli3.png -
Barclays Center Progress and Info

More work by Tracy Collins: Steel facade started going up a couple of weeks ago. The feature is pretty neat. Light from inside will seep through the steel panels and shine outside at night. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6074/6087067772_b30895c716_o.jpg The pictures below were taken a block away from the construction site, where a sample of the weathered steel has been on display. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6189/6077423839_23fae0dcda_o.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6185/6077423267_b981888ee5_o.jpg -

Convincing Deron Williams to Stay
Teletopez replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
I see what you're saying, but I'm saying that considering the factors that motivated Deron to make those comments. For one, the opportunity to open up Brooklyn in a billion dollar arena is something very tough to walk away from. The Nets would probably dare Deron to walk away from the Barclays Center rather than trade him. Plus, the Nets had been keeping constant contact with him to find out who he wanted them to pursue. He has an owner that is willing to spend. And while a failure in bringing Dwight may further raise the question of whether he would leave, I still don't see a whole lot of other options that are offering a better situation than the Nets. -

Convincing Deron Williams to Stay

Pre-lockout, King was texting him regularly about who to pursue. The Nets are making him feel important in every which way. They've put him up on billboards (one even in Times Square), they gave him one of the earliest tours of the Barclays Center construction site, and they're giving him a huge say in the FO moves. I feel like people are really overlooking the importance of the Brooklyn move. Deron has also given plenty of positive indications about his happiness with the team. He displayed the Times Square "Bound for Brooklyn" billboard on his website and posted this. -
All of our prospects stay put. Success. Yankees reportedly considering calling up Montero in the near future. Adam Warren seems like he would be ready for a call-up at any point as well. Manny Banuelos promoted to AAA. @jnorris427 Six-man rotation is a possibility.
-
Haha I wasn't serious. Ed Wade is Houston's GM, and those are three of the Yankees' top ten prospects.
-
Buster Olney ----- 3:59: Yankees deal Jesus Montero, Dellin Betances, Manny Banuelos, and Kei Igawa to Houston for Wandy Rodriguez and Ed Wade.

Interesting couple of incidents in Detroit. Carlos Guillen admired his HR off Weaver, warning was issued, Weaver threw at Avila and got ejected. Verlander had a no-no going into the eighth. Erick Aybar tried to bunt his way on and reached on an error. Peter Bourjos grounded into a fielder's choice, but the Tigers failed to successfully complete the rundown and Aybar scored. Izturis then broke up the no-no.

Yep, I was getting worried when the Rockies reportedly lowered their asking price and the Yankees started talking. The new asking price was still high, and Jimenez is a huge risk.
