So we made the smart decision and gave the ball to a posting up Lopez. We don't see that as much as we should, in my opinion. The no-call with Hollins hitting Lopez on the back is frustrating for Cleveland. Very sloppy game for both teams. That first half was tough to watch, but we eventually found our way in the second half.

Me: Hey Devin can you do your Avery impersonation? Harris: *In Avery voice* No I cannot.

Off to the game tonight. I bought the tickets through a promotion for "Social Media Night." It was available to any followers of the Nets' social media pages. All the people who used the promotion are sitting in one section, and it was sold out, so I'm looking forward to sitting in a section full of Nets fans. We are being recorded by YES during the first timeout of the second quarter. There's also an autograph session with Harris and Humphries after the game.

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e67/jbkage/prokbk.png Talk about the Steinbrenner effect. What an incredible day of work for Prokhorov on Russian Cultural Night. I love games like these in which you don't know where to begin with the props.

1) We started that a couple years back, but it didn't last. It's hard to find mixmakers that would be dedicated to the site. 2) We have a page, but it needs to be brought back to life. 3) We have a Twitter account and basketball-related topics are feeded automatically. Link 4) Yep, recruiting through word of mouth helps. 5) The thing is affiliations usually just involve exchanging links and posting other websites' links on your page. Some of them become too one-sided. 6) That can help as well.

Russian entertainment at the Pru with King, Prokhy, and Jay-Z in attendance. http://oi54.tinypic.com/3345kys.jpg http://oi55.tinypic.com/2pzlhdg.jpg I guess Mikhail was serious about the dancing bear.

Prokhorov: We're Walking Away from the Deal
Teletopez replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
That's why this is good news. It's not just about this season. Killing your draft picks and youth affects more than one season. -
8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocked shots, 3-3 from the field for Favors in the first quarter.

Prokhorov: We're Walking Away from the Deal
Teletopez replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
We had a legitimate shot at renting him for half a season by giving up more than half of our roster and at least three draft picks. We looked like the ones that were desperate. Denver was slowly and steadily raising their asking price and adding some of their own expensive contracts for us to take. Now we've stepped away. Read Woj's article, and you'll understand why this is a relief for the fanbase. -
Team forums in divisions (current) or in conferences?
Teletopez replied to Real Deal's topic in Feedback and General Support
Divisions with the exception of playoff time, when we can do it the way we usually do. It feels more organized that way rather than having two forum categories of 15. -
Prokhorov: We're Walking Away from the Deal
Teletopez replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
He was injured for some time through the preseason, and when he came back, he didn't get to play because Avery felt he wasn't in shape. Murphy was clearly unhappy when talking to the media. -
Prokhorov: We're Walking Away from the Deal
Teletopez replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
I'm thrilled at the outcome of this for multiple reasons. Over the last week, Prokhorov has received a lot of criticism from writers for something Dave D evaluated months back, that Prokhorov is "NBA dumb." Reports were that King wanted to back out, while Prokhorov was pushing it. Today, everyone was worried about what Mikhail would reveal, whether he would go beyond limits, etc. -
Prokhorov: We're Walking Away from the Deal
Teletopez replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
I've been disappointed about how things have gone with that. We traded away someone who wanted to leave for someone who embraced playing for Jersey, and unexpectedly, things got ugly. -

Prokhorov: We're Walking Away from the Deal
Teletopez replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
He says they're walking away since the price was too expensive, talks were becoming public and affecting the players, and negotiations were being dragged on. He sounded pretty ticked throughout the conference. Answer to the last question about whether the Nets would re-consider if Denver adjusted their asking price: "I thought I was perfectly clear." Billy King being interviewed now. -
http://www.nba.com/live1/ Press conference at the Pru that started at 5:30, not even two hours after Prokhorov arrived at Teterboro Airport. He's answering questions Melo and non-Melo related, since this is his first press conference since becoming owner.

It seems like this is drawing a lot of attention on the Twitter feed... join OTR, Tweeters! This was one of my favorite Nets moments ever. We began the season 2-11. At one point, we were more than 10 games out of the playoffs. The Carter trade turned everything around and we worked our way back uphill. On the final day of the season, we controlled our own destiny. Cleveland was falling in the standings and was 41-40, as were we. The Cavs won their game, and we rallied from a 19-point deficit to win ours, thanks to an incredible performance from a shaken up VC. We ended up getting swept by Miami in the first round, but the comeback of ours transitioned into an incredible season in 2005-06. This YouTube channel is incredible, by the way (it's by Maxamillion711). Every VC highlight I've been wanting to see again is on here.

Any confusion between Cashman and the Steinbrenners seems to be solved and put in the past. Andruw Jones is a smart choice for replacing Thames, especially with a one-year deal. MLB.com's list of the top ten catching prospects included Montero, Sanchez, and Romine. Still a long way to go for Sanchez. Link Arbitration avoided with Hughes and Joba. Hughes 1/$2.7 M, Joba 1/$1.4 M.

Andruw Jones and the Yanks reportedly closing in on a one-year deal. Marcus Thames to the Dodgers.

Report: Nets receive permission to speak with Melo
Teletopez replied to Nestle Snipes's topic in General NBA Discussion
So Woj released an article talking about how Prokhy's meeting with Melo (assuming he does meet with him) holds a lot of meaning for the organization. He says the organization is basically appearing as a joke if Prokhy comes out of the meeting without an agreement with Melo and that they are a "bigger lost cause than they've ever been." I honestly don't know what to expect anymore, nor do I know what's better for the team. Reportedly, Damion James is apart of the deal now as well. It's been a crazy three months and a ridiculous two weeks. -
New Jersey at Golden State

65% from the field in the first twelve minutes. Nice job by our bench in the final minutes of the quarter, with Farmar controlling the floor. -

There's a really strange feeling when watching these games that are in the midst of the Melo rumors. You feel for almost the whole locker room, particularly Harris and Favors, who have had these talks of them leaving alive since before the season started.
