  1. Say hypothetically, your team wins, oh I don't know, 12 games in a season. If you found out that they tanked, would you ... approve of what they did because 1) they aren't as bad as their record shows, 2) they focused on player development and the future, and 3) they have a 25% chance at first pick in the lottery? OR disapprove of what they did because 1) fans paid for tickets, expecting that they would put their best effort forth in picking up wins, 2) their attempt at getting first pick could fail, 3) it's tough to rebound from an ugly season mentally, and 4) FA's tend to base your future chances of winning on previous records?
  2. Haha, I was trying to figure out where I heard that chant before until I remembered hearing it in Yankees Classics of the '96 World Series. I had no idea until today that it was a Braves playoffs trend. I like it, though. It's kind of like the Terrible Towel of Turner Field. Similar to TNT neglecting to keep the camera off Garnett? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHEnst3FQrk
  3. Rough day for Brooks Conrad. Two errors and an 0-3 at the plate, including a bunt popout on the first pitch he saw in the eighth inning. http://oi52.tinypic.com/whgpas.jpg That was before the former Yankee's go-ahead shot.
  4. It's usually bound to happen with any dynasty or dynasty in the making. You'll see similar cases with the Lakers, Spurs, Red Sox, Cowboys, Steelers, Tarheels basketball, etc.
  5. The squad arrived in Russia shorty after noon Moscow time. They are there for almost 24 hours before heading for Beijing and Guangzhou. http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/460435/nets5.jpg Mikhail Prokhorov met the team for the first time. He promises he will be in Newark for Opening Night against Detroit, and he may stay in Jersey for October 31 against Miami.
  6. Seventeen years after, Divac looks back at his friendship with Petrovic as they won a World Championship, the destruction of their relationship through the Croatian War of Independence, and an unexpected goodbye before they could patch up their differences. Dave D'Alessandro Trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_FTjCe1C7Y
  7. There have been four errors and three unearned runs in this game.
  8. Your second sentence is part of my argument to your first one. As I said in our conversation, out of the eight postseason teams last year, seven's closers tripped up at one point or another. The one team's that didn't ended up winning it all. Also, as a by the way, I don't believe Rivera had a blown save in the '03 World Series. Maybe I'm wrong, though, I didn't start following baseball until the year after.
  9. The Pru is an incredible upgrade from the IC. The lighting is significantly better. The sound system makes the experience more enthusiastic. I wish we kept the zigzags along the FT line, though. I don't know why we got rid of them. I feel like I haven't seen the team play this physically in a long, long time. I really don't think I've ever been this excited for a Nets season.
  10. Fat Elvis with two opposite field drives. Gardenhire got thrown out. It looked like strike three to me and just about everyone else in the park.
  11. Fat Elvis drives it the other way for a solo shot! Only his second HR as a Yankee, but he has still been incredibly productive in our lineup against RHP.
  12. I have been very, very impressed with Jorge today. He slapped a couple of singles the opposite way after working the count, and he brought the count to 3-2 before striking out just now. Can Wood and Mo seal this one up?
  13. David Robertson's breaking ball ends the inning. I was watching the Phillies scored 3 runs in the second inning earlier today before letting that third out happen and viewed that as what the Yankees wanted to establish in their offense. Good to see it happen in the four-run rally.
  14. No idea. Anyway, shortly after a replay of Tex homering off Crain back in May, he delivers!
  15. Definitely. That 2001 World Series was classic. Pretty cool how it was the only series ever to start with Game 3, and we swept Arizona before the series could even go west. My mind filters out any fictional nonsense that is shown on television, so I saw some cool stuff like what is shown below, but then the screen blacked out. I guess the show is over. http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd420/Wali_Sabuhi/yankees1.png http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd420/Wali_Sabuhi/yankees2.png http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd420/Wali_Sabuhi/yankees3.png http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd420/Wali_Sabuhi/yankees4.png http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd420/Wali_Sabuhi/yankees5.png Look... ketchup! http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd420/Wali_Sabuhi/ketchup2.png
  16. What is this? Some documentary on a nonexistent baseball season?
  17. It's similar to the Yankees' case in the aspect of both teams receiving a lot of opposition, but they do their opponents a favor by drawing significantly bigger crowds when they visit stadiums that typically don't have high attendance levels.
  18. One year ago on this date: http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=7011249 It is freezing inside my house, and I love it. There's that connection between the weather and postseason baseball flowing through my mind.
  19. Nah, it's fake, haha. In all seriousness, though, it's going to be called "Check Our Stats." EDIT: I was certain this was fake. I guess not.
  20. The Nets season can do most of the responding, but I just want to point out that from last year's squad, there are only four players that are on the team right now: Harris, Lopez, Humphries, and T-Will.
