Sorry to hear you guys are missing out. I noted two bad pitches from Burnett in the game. He got away with the pitch to Pedroia that was thrown almost exactly where Park threw it two days ago (Pedroia fouled it a few feet left of the pole). Then he had to pay for the pitch right down the middle to Martinez. His pitches look pretty impressive, though. Control isn't totally there. Our offense has hit the ball well a few times off Lester. Lester has had to work, but he's been getting out of some jams, which we need to fix.

The fact that he has a positive history is enough for me to say that he may earn a major role on this team. It's not a guarantee, but it's worth having some faith in him. While we wait for him to get comfortable, we have guys like Joba and Robertson who can get the job done when we need them to.

Vizcaino had an ERA over 7 in June. When Rivera started working with him, that ERA started dropping, and it was well below 4 by the end of August. He had a rough September, but that's because Torre didn't do a great job with the relievers and a lot of arms were burned by September. And Torre's management also clearly had an effect on Farnsworth. Guys like him and Proctor didn't look so great all the time because of the odd spacing between their appearances. Girardi has done a great job with the bullpen, and he got Farnsworth to show his best in 2008. Chances are that would have continued if he wasn't traded. My point is that Chan Ho can have a turnaround as well. I know the NL East isn't the same as the AL East, but it's not like he was playing in AA. There is still pressure incorporated into pitching for Philly.

First Game of 2010: Yankees @ Red Sox
Teletopez replied to Teletopez's topic in Baseball Gameday Discussion
The way everything played out last night is still bothering me a bit right now. I know C.C. tends to get off to slow starts every year, but I'm hoping that the struggles don't extend into later April starts. He started off well, but I sensed that he was having some trouble with control, and then eventually, he got hit. As for the bullpen, Chan Ho Park made a DANGEROUS pitch to Pedroia and he had to pay for it. He definitely has good stuff, but I guess all of our pitchers had their flaws yesterday. Eventually, we're going to have to learn how to go into Boston and shut down that offense for nine innings. I don't know if anyone can do it as easily as Wang did, but even if it takes three or four guys to combine for a solid nine innings, it's a big help. Though Joba had some troubles, it was good to see him working quickly and showing little hesitation. With our defense, we had a bad throw from Gardner, a misplayed line drive by Swisher that allowed a Youkilis triple, and a passed ball by Posada. Our offense was one bright spot. Everyone got on base, and at least we managed to fight against the Boston momentum after they tied it up at 5. Unfortunately, we lost the lead again. I can't wait until tomorrow. Burnett will have a changeup at hand. -
I'm not sure if you understood my post. I'm saying that even though I'm disappointed with Park's performance, you have to remember that Vizcaino and Farnsworth had some rough points in their time in pinstripes, but they both became key guys out of the bullpen. The same thing can happen to Chan Ho.

I wouldn't be so quick to say that. I'm disappointed, but let's not forget about guys like Farnsworth and Vizcaino who eventually found their way and became key eighth-inning men.

First Game of 2010: Yankees @ Red Sox

Nick Johnson, Damaso Marte, Jorge Posada, and Alfredo Aceves all seem good to go after their injuries. Jeter Johnson Teixeira Rodriguez Cano Posada Granderson Swisher Gardner I was happy to hear that this game will be broadcasted locally as well. After the BoSox '04 championship, they opened 2005 up at Yankee Stadium and lost. After the Yankees '09 championship, they opened up 2010 at Fenway and ____? -
Yes and yes. Sometimes, I read a topic in the announcements, and then when I go back to the main index, the basketball is still orange. I go back to the announcements, and the topic appears as unread.

I started having this problem when the new update came. I set an option in the settings to watch topics I post in, but whenever a reply is made to a topic, nothing shows up in the tab. http://i41.tinypic.com/k53j8h.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/2wlwl77.jpg

Sure, I'll take steroids for three years, but nine years down the road, I'll be just as amazing without them. And all the haters will be living in the past because they'll have nothing to say about the present.

Terrence Williams' Month of March
Teletopez replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
For a good part of the season, Williams was coming on the court and not doing much. We hardly saw him trying to attack the basket. At the same time, he was making strange statements on Twitter about what it would have been like if he was selected by a team like Charlotte instead. At that point, the fanbase was pretty disappointed in him. -
You're like the critics and I'm like Alex Rodriguez. I just keep on rolling. 10 11 uploads for last night's games! I'm aiming for 1000 uploads by the end of the regular season.:yess:

Devin Harris and Courtney Lee got off to slow starts in the season, but they eventually found their way and have been consistent. Terrence Williams started off on a rocky road as well, and fans were beginning to question Jersey's choice of picking him over Tyler Hansbrough. It took him a little longer, but he suddenly took a step forward starting with the first game in March, and the Nets play began improving around the same time. 15 games Minutes: 29.8 FGM-A: 5.2/12.1 (43%) 3PM-A: 0.7/1.8 (37%) FTM-A: 3.0/4.2 (71%) Rebounds: 6.7 Assists: 4.9 Turnovers: 2.1 Points: 14.1

FA's Who Have Been Positive About the Nets
Teletopez replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Reportedly, the Nets may make an offer to Lee early in the FA period, before the Knicks want to start negotiating with him so either the Knicks lose him or they lose some of their cap space to bring him back. -
