Yes, because using the example of the Yankees: 1) A lot of the money is coming from revenue (that means the team's FO has been smart in making wise moves and keeping the fanbase happy overall, along with having a dedicated fanbase). The team has taken full advantage and has chosen not to pocket any revenue. The team, while receiving a lot of revenue, is also losing a lot to the revenue sharing plan, so that teams who don't benefit so much aren't thrown into a huge hole. 2) A lot of the big-time salaries are long-term, so the team will have a limited budget in future offseasons. They won't be able to sign a couple superstars every year. On another note, signing players to big contracts and winning it all is a lot easier in football, in my opinion. When you're on the field, it's possible for other players to make your job easier and put less pressure on you. In baseball, if you're name is C.C. Sabathia, you're making around 20 starts a year in New York City, with the expectations of going 7 innings strong every game, and you're not getting so much help with it. But that's not a discussion of whether it's deserved, but rather whether there should be a salary cap in the NFL.

It was great to see Courtney Lee showing some of what he had in Orlando a couple weeks back, and now we've been seeing from Terrence Williams what we saw in him on Draft Day. His last several games have been a nice surprise. His shot selection has been much better, and his numbers overall have been great as of late. His game against Cleveland was arguably his best of the season. He had another nice performance last night. Harris, like most of the team, didn't shoot too well last night, but he had 10 assists and turned over the ball just twice, so even though he isn't quite what he was last year, he's been effective on the floor.

My first game was wild. I had a Burnett-Halladay matchup, and neither guy gave up a hit for the first four innings or so. Then my offense attacked first when I got my timing back, but I screwed up with A.J. and the bullpen soon after. Things got blown open, and I got impatient with my swinging. It was an odd, frustrating turnaround. It looks like Burnett's wild pitching was exaggerated a bit. I like the graphics of the game, it seems like everything flows smoother. I'm not too great of a player, but the game is still no doubt incredible.

No Lee in this game. He was looking forward to playing and sounded like he was ready to go, but Kiki isn't playing him tonight.

The Nets will do anything for you to come to their games

I believe I saw $500 for courtside against Toronto. As for the source of all the genius marketing ideas this season... NetsDaily -
What is your team's record when you attend their games?

Our three losses against the Cavs have been by 8, 10, and 11 points. The Knicks got destroyed by Cleveland last night. Hint hint.

I believe he's saying the players are more concerned with getting their wallets filled than playing for a winning team. Battie and Simmons could have agreed to a buyout agreement and started negotiating with Boston, who had interest in both of them.

Bobby Simmons and Tony Battie are still on the roster.

I'm pretty excited about having Chan Ho Park added to the roster. If you look at Boston last offseason, they weren't able to sign Tex, but they followed up with a number of smaller salary signings, particularly with their 'pen. Guys like Ramon Ramirez and Takashi Saito kept them rolling for a period of time. That's basically what the Yankees have done this offseason, with Thames, Winn, Park, and Mike Rivera. The signing most likely means that the fifth starter spot is going to either Chamberlain or Hughes. I was leaning towards having Gaudin in there, but you never know if a player will have one of those seasons to forget and you need to turn to someone else, so it's good that we have a lot of talented arms. There's so much to anticipate.

Jayson Williams to serve at least 18 months
Teletopez replied to The Regime's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Jayson Williams Marcus Williams Sean Williams Shawne Williams Terrence Williams It's ironic how four out of those five former/current Nets got into trouble one time or another. -
This game was a bit different from recent ones, because the Nets weren't just hideous in the final minutes of the fourth, but they allowed a 17-0 run by Memphis to start in the third quarter. We had 20 turnovers and ended up blowing an 18-point lead. Brook Lopez had 17 in the first quarter. He finished with 26 on 11-14 shooting, which isn't a huge surprise since the Grizzlies would obviously put pressure on him for the rest of the game. That's where the rest of the team had to step in but didn't. You smile first at Harris' 17 points and 13 assists, but then you realize that he almost had a triple-double with his 8 turnovers. This was a greater version of our usual collapses.

Our defense was terribly confused on defense throughout, which is why everyone in Toronto's starting 5 scored in double figures. The Raptors had no problems cutting to the basket or creating open looks. They shot 60%.
-
Jazz outscored Golden State 31-10 in the second quarter. Utah's defense was effective after the first 12 minutes. Great games for both Boozer and Kirilenko.
-
10 points on 5-13 shooting along with 9 rebounds for Warrick in his Bulls debut. Chicago had 16 offensive boards to Minnesota's 7.

Yi knows he's a totally different player when he bothers driving to the basket. He doesn't even attempt to do that now, he just takes ridiculous shots and expects them to be close. Rare ugly shooting performance by Hayes. Great performance by our backcourt. Harris and Lee combined for 36 points on 13-22 shooting. Harris had just one turnover along with 11 assists. Lopez's post-up moves are the most entertaining part of every Nets game this season.

Humphries' decision wasn't terrible, it's somewhat understandable that those two blocks came out of nowhere. He should have still gone for the dunk, though. Harris' missed floater was just ugly. I find that he finally has the same quickness back from last year, but now he's not the same at finishing. Lee missed two wide open 3's in the corner that would have extended on a six-point lead. But it's nothing knew for us to go on a FG drought in a 5-minute period. Big disappointment.

Reid, in case you haven't found anything under $45, Newegg has a bunch of games at low prices today, and I think they only have BFBC2 for $45 today.
