  1. Bump. No one finds this interesting? This is more information on our 2010 offseason aims and Sean Williams' future.
  2. We don't solve young players' problems by signing big-time FA's. They're two different things. Phil Hughes, Robby Cano, Melky Cabrera, Brett Gardner, Phil Coke, Alfredo Aceves, and Francisco Cervelli have nothing to do with Tex, CC, Burnett, and A-Rod.
  3. It's pretty impressive considering he missed the first month of the season. Congrats to him. And Cabrera's first place vote is pretty funny. I remember when A-Rod won the MVP in '07, it wasn't unanimous because two Detroit writers voted for Magglio Ordonez.
  4. Restock for Z-listers is 7:00 EST tonight and 12:00 PM EST tomorrow.
  5. Well from my memory of our attempts at upsets in the past, we've given teams like the Cavs a scare, but then they get away with their late game heroics. It's definitely a possibility, though. We do some crazy things in the west. We beat Utah and Phoenix on a roadtrip last year.
  6. It seemed like there weren't as many boos from the crowd as there used to be when the ball was in Carter's hands. Vince did shoot badly, but he has been the past couple of games, so I wouldn't say playing in Toronto is affecting him anymore.
  7. What? There's no correlation between those two things. When I say solve problems with young guys, I mean sending Cano's hitting uphill, getting Melky to work harder to earn the CF job, and allowing Phil Hughes to prove his worth when we move him to the 'pen. I love how the Yankee haters criticize Yankee fans for how annoying they are whenever you try to argue with them, but you guys aren't much better. This has NOTHING to do with our payroll, and yet you have to bring it up.
  8. ... and he did just that. 5/5 from the field in the third quarter and Portland has an 18-point lead.
  9. Portland was off to a good start, but it seems like Minnesota cut the lead. Roy's shooting 3/10 from the field, and surprisingly, he's missed all four of his FT's. Minnesota should watch out for him opening up the lead early second half.
  10. "I think it's going to be difficult to have two max contracts"... "we will definitely have room for one and another large contract." "I think it will be a very good draft." "I can tell you when he [brandon Jennings] came to work out for us, we liked him a lot"... "they play a very different style over there [Europe].." "I think it's going to take Sean a little longer to get it together"... "It seems like in the last 4 or 5 games he's turned it around." Kiki also mentioned that not picking up the option on Sean doesn't necessarily mean they're ruling him out of their future. "This summer he [Chris Douglas-Roberts] put in as much work as I've seen anybody put in"... "(joking) I don't know how he's had time to tweet." Interviewer: Alright final question, this is from Keyon Dooling, I think he wanted me to ask you. Are you going to pick up his option next year? I told him if it means the Nets are getting LeBron I'll see ya later. But when will you let Keyon know, he's anxious? Kiki: (laughing) We like Keyon a lot, he's had a tough time. I know he's anxious because he hasn't played yet, but he'll get back on the court and prove his worth. He's been tremendous for us and we miss him a lot. Full Interview (Audio)
  11. We have Hughes, Montero, and Jackson. Hughes has already been amazing for us. Even if Montero or Jackson struggle, our organization has found ways to solve problems with our young guys in the past. I guess you can go either way, it's a tough decision to make.
  12. The new Toronto GM says he will look at trading within the division, which can be better for Toronto. The Yankees and Red Sox may compete with bids and Toronto may get a lot of pieces in the end. The Yankees need to be careful with what they offer. I've read a lot about Phil Hughes, Jesus Montero, and Austin Jackson getting involved in talks. There's a lot to consider. Would you rather get Halladay and have a very good chance at a few more rings in five or six years when he's with the club or would you have guys like Hughes, Montero, and Jackson, who have 15+ years to play in their career?
  13. 1) We need to box out and time our rebounding better. 2) We need to make stops on defense when it matters most. 3) We need to take better shots when it matters most.
  14. I don't know what these officials are seeing, but they've probably missed three foul calls in the last two minutes. We're hanging in there, but the Knicks seem to keep pulling away whenever we come closer.
  15. Welcome back, Devin Harris! He turned it over the first time he had the ball, but then he drove to the basket on a fast break for a layup, and then found Lopez for a one-handed alley-oop on the next possession.
  16. Apparently, this game's been getting a lot of media attention. I guess two struggling rivals squaring off is something to look forward to, haha.
  17. Two things I hadn't noticed that I just read. CDR has a 91.5 FT%, which is third in the NBA. Also, the Nets haven't allowed any of their last 6 opponents to score over 100.
  18. He's kept a balance between the jumpshots and scoring in the post. What's wrong with him taking jumpers every now and then if he knocks them down? I have no problem with the way he's playing. I don't think he's gotten into foul trouble once in the last two weeks, and even though his defense has been shaky, you're obviously going to see flaws in a sophomore.
  19. Yep. I thought he was pretty happy in Jersey, but he's really having a fun time in Orlando.
  20. This is, in a way, a must-watch game for all NBA fans. A combined record of 2-21 between the two teams. We have no idea what to expect. It could be a blowout and an ugly game from the start, or it could be a close match throughout.
  21. What an ending. No one saw Smith coming in for the follow-up. Not much you can do with 0.7 seconds remaining, but Houston had a better shot at a miracle inbounding it short than long. 7 wins in a row now for Atlanta.
  22. Wow, that's one of the few times you see a foul call in the final seconds. 11-1 run by Houston to tie the game with 5 seconds left.
  23. As expected, Harris is coming off the bench tomorrow. You can't help but think about the last time he came off the bench in his Nets debut .
