I haven't watched the video yet. The Kobe figurine isn't anything special (it hardly looks like him, you'll rarely find a figurine that looks like the player). I like the package because of the locker along with the Gold Room pass because the VIP members are probably bigger fans of the game and will continue to play online even when the majority of other players are done with the game.

CDR's going for the SF spot because Harris and Lee in the backcourt is just about a done deal. T-Will's been pretty generous, at times a bit too generous with the ball. He passes on FG attempts that he should probably go for. He hasn't quite shown the excellent passing we're expecting yet, but he's been helping move the ball around. Harris keeps getting hurt, but none of the injuries appear to be anything important.

Baseball, there's nothing like following the Yankees. The day feels so empty when there's a rainout or day off for the team.

ALDS Discussion: Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees
Teletopez replied to Phightins's topic in Baseball Gameday Discussion
A-Rod has been nothing shy of amazing. He saved last game for us and got us started in this one when our offense was dead. I was getting worried when it was K after K for Pavano. Congrats to the Twins on a long run and an impressive season. Farewell to the Metrodome. -

ALDS Discussion: Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees
Teletopez replied to Phightins's topic in Baseball Gameday Discussion
Well it's only fair to start off with the fact that the Yankees caught a HUGE break with Mauer not getting the double. The ball landed right in front of the umpire, I don't know how he missed that. With that being said, I've watched A-Rod's HR five times and it's still giving me chills. A couple months ago, the Yankees would have preferred other players over A-Rod in clutch situations. This past week, though, he's shown he's our #1 guy. With the 7 RBI's and 2 HR's in one inning, and then coming through his last three times with runners on, we couldn't help but think homerun in the ninth inning. I've always wanted to see Jeter and Teixeira get pie. One of them got it today . The feeling of the playoff Yankees from years back is returning. Great start by A.J., and it should calm down the catcher controversy. Burnett was under pressure because he had to perform with the controversy in his head, and it was his career playoff debut. In the last two games, all of our big-money players have done their jobs. Jeter's 3-6 with a HR and 2 RBI's, A-Rod has come through in four situations with runners on, Teixeira had two game-changing hits late, Sabathia pitched 6 2/3 innings with 1 ER, and Burnett went 6 innings on 1 ER. Oh, and way to go Robertson! An escape from a bases loaded no out jam that could have changed the momentum. -
I was thinking we could set up a unique type of GFX crew, not one that fills out requests. It should be less time consuming. I guess we could set up more specific details if any of the graphics artists like the idea, but maybe the formed crew could have their own private forum in which they work together on one piece. The crew members can take turns starting on a piece, and the others can give feedback or edit it themselves, until the whole group sees little or no flaws in it. Every certain amount of time, the crew can release a signature or wallpaper that we can have displayed in a gallery. Feedback?

ALDS Discussion: Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees

I've observed today and yesterday that they almost always swing in a 2-0 count and that it usually results in a miss or a foul. -

Great pitching, just 1 earned run. The offense was stellar, A-Rod broke through with key RBI's today. Once Jeter hit the shot to left, we started rolling. Interesting pitching matchup on Friday. Blackburn, 4.03 ERA, vs. Burnett, 4.04 ERA. -
I agree with ECN. Beckett is killer in the postseason year after year, regardless of how rough his season is, he rises to the occasion come playoff time. Lester is simply dominant as well. Add Clay Buchholz, who is very capable of giving a strong outing, to the picture. Angel pitching is very strong as well, but the Boston offense finds ways to come through at home. The Angels probably need to get runners on base and steals if they're going to win.

Moore's ability to put up good numbers in a season is based on a lot of factors. The Nets had Kidd and Carter in the 06-07 season, but they desperately needed someone in the front court with Krstic and Jefferson out. Moore's role was pretty big, though general. It wasn't too complex of a system to fit in to. In Boston, the Celtics were already loaded with several weapons, and I guess they needed Moore to play a specific role in a complex system, so it wasn't as easy. Nice job on the player profile.

Possibly, but either way the wind plays a factor in balls hit in the air. Great to see the captain getting us started and overall, we've been hitting the ball very well. -

Apparently, winds are blowing inwards and fly balls may not carry like they usually do. -

Thanks and good luck to your Twins, Zach. -
The Angels have a huge weapon they didn't have as much in the last couple series against Boston in the playoffs: running. Varitek and Martinez don't throw out many runners, and there are very few people that won't be going when on base. Also, Boston pitchers don't do a slide-step, so the runners have a good chance of successfully stealing. Boston needs great pitching.

Game 1 in New York: 8/7/09 - 6:07 EST Game 2 in New York: 8/9/09 - 6:07 EST Game 3 in Minnesota: 8/11/09 Game 4 in Minnesota (if necessary): 8/12/09 Game 5 in New York (if necessary): 8/14/09 -
Wow, this is like your typical unbelievable Yankees-Red Sox game, but it's not Yankees-Red Sox. From a general baseball fan's point of view, it's a shame both teams can't make the playoffs.

Ah, the MLB on Fox theme song, the towels being waved, Joe Buck's totally unenthusiastic commentary, all the familiar sights and sounds are here!
-
Yes but I was asking you if you were trying to bring across some less obvious point. Whatever, there's nothing really worth arguing over anymore.
-
Well let me reiterate that it is stating the obvious saying it's awesome to see a big-time underdog upset a rich team. And disagree, question, same idea. You don't have to get mad that I'm posting in your thread.
-
I am aware of the difference, I'm not talking about how the better team gets their talent. I don't know how to continue the argument when we're not even on the same page. All I've been trying to say is I don't see what you're trying to say. When you disagree on something, you reply to it and start a discussion, not "get out of the thread." I really should be asking you if you're mad.
-
No, I'm just questioning the point you're trying to bring across. I can say... If Devin Harris stays healthy and if Brook Lopez continues to put up great numbers and if Yi Jianlian has truly improved and if Terrence Williams proves his talent in the NBA and if Courtney Lee is really over being traded and if Lawrence Frank makes the right decisions and if the Nets play well together as a team and if they make the playoffs and if they keep on winning and go to the Finals and if they beat the Lakers then won't it be amazing. Obviously, that's exaggerating what you said but you brought up two if's and we haven't even gone through the first stage with the tiebreaker.
