Super Bowl XLVI: NY Giants vs. New England
Dash replied to Real Deal's topic in NFL Gameday Archives
Decent Super Bowl. It was weird being the only guy going for the Giants over here but I wouldn't have minded if the Pats were to win it. So depressing now that the football season is over. Nothing worth looking forward to till mid March or April. -

Surprised that there wasn't a thread on this yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZPT2BzWCv0 What is disgusting is that there were apparently hundreds of security personnel at the stadium and they did NOTHING to stop this. They literally just stood there as people beat the hell out of each other.

Dwight Updates: Magic to reassess situation on March 1
Dash replied to Teletopez's topic in Orlando Magic Team Forum
Yeah I could see a center like Brook being able to get his value up quick but he needs to play at a higher level for that to happen. I disagree about the draft. Its deep in terms of the top 7-8 prospects (Davis, Drummond, Barnes, Perry Jones, Gilchrist, Robinson, Sullinger and Jeremy Lamb) and the rest of the draft class looks pretty weak imo. The Nets do have the 6th pick right now though. -
Dwight Updates: Magic to reassess situation on March 1
Dash replied to Teletopez's topic in Orlando Magic Team Forum
The problem with a trade to the Nets is...what would New Jersey trade the Magic? Brook Lopez and picks? That would be a terrible haul for Orlando especially considering how Lopez's value has been going south (he could always pick it up though whenever he gets back). If Dwight Howard is traded then I think he's going to the Lakers unless they get cold feet and if he somehow hits free agency, he's going to Dallas especially if Mark Cuban makes his huge gamble to clean house (renouncing rights to free agents and then use the amnesty clause on either Shawn Marion or Brendan Haywood) and is able to offer two max contracts. The Nets are in the middle for me right now although I do not doubt that Dwight's main objective is to eventually end up playing with Deron Williams. -
...via the Knicks and Chad Ford has Jared Sullinger going to Houston. While Sullinger would be the 4th straight power forward the Rockets would draft in the first round (3/4 if Marcus Morris can slide to SF), he would easily be the best player available by the 8th pick. Although I would prefer to make the playoffs and get the protected pick business with the Nets out of the way, it would be nice to have the 14th pick again and take a center like one of the Zellers or Meyer. If Sullinger is off the board then I would take Jeremy Lamb with the 8th pick, I think his stock will rise once again by the draft combine but in this scenario he should be available. http://espn.go.com/nba/lottery2012/mockdraft

I honestly have no clue. I don't think its the vetoed trade, Scola was the one rounding the troops during the Timberwolves game when the rest of the team was apparently "pointing fingers", and skipped out on the interviews in order to work on his game in the gym. Maybe its just a really bad slump? I don't know, I hope he's able to snap out of it because he could be an amnesty candidate this offseason.

This is how the Spurs win at home
Dash replied to YugoRocketsFan's topic in San Antonio Spurs Team Forum
It wasn't THAT bad, there were a couple of calls that pissed me off (e.g. that offensive foul with 1 minute to go) but that loss had more to do with the Rockets choking away a big lead and a couple of our starters not stepping up (Lowry/Scola who are supposed to be the leaders of this team). Meh they tend to whine about officials every now and then but yesterday was probably the worst they have ever been, I'd say that there are worst commentators in the NBA. Although the Rockets' commentators (especially Clyde Drexler) do make me dread watching the games. I wish Calvin Murphy would come back already, I haven't seen many color commentators better than him. -
I think Morey just wants a more stable rotation at the 5, Hill has been nice but he's been far too inconsistent and Kaman would give Houston a center who can get points by actually posting up (rather than the putbacks and second chance points ala Dalembert/Hill) albeit Kaman does turn it over a bit too much. His $14 million expiring deal could be an asset or salary filler for a bigger deal at the deadline. As for upgrading at the three, I wouldn't mind doing that depending on what player we're getting and who is on the way out. I am fine with Chandler Parsons for now though and we still have yet to see what Marcus Morris can do.

Another awful loss. Rockets up 19 at halftime but then aren't able to score and Tim Duncan explodes for 16 third quarter points. Great game from Martin, Patterson and Lee. Lowry has been unimpressive as of late, we need him to get back into form. Scola was once again horrible and didn't even play in the 4th quarter.

If we make the playoffs then we give our own first to the Nets.

Awesome induction. Congrats ALCS.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/sam_amick/02/01/kaman.trade/index.html I wouldn't do it at the price of our only 2012 first (the Knicks first) but if we could nab Kaman for just Thabeet, Hill and maybe something else then that would be incredible. I thought Kaman's beef with New Orleans was the lack of playing time and if we do land him then he is going to be backing up Dalembert. Either way it would be a good move on the Rockets' part.

Horrible loss. What is wrong with Scola?

As late as this is, I felt I should reply. Agreed on the casting, the actor for Arya was PERFECT and brought out the most of the character I read about in the books. I was referring to her role in the books when I posted that comment earlier because she doesn't really do all much in the first few books although I love her character. Without spoiling anything, later in the series Arya is arguably the best (or one of the best) POVs in the series. I've been keeping tabs on the season 2 casting and thought that its been excellent for the most part. My only issue with it is that they had to cut out a couple of characters in order to stay under the budget but otherwise I loved it.

I was assuming that the only way Jericho challenges Punk for the title would have been via winning the Rumble. -

Rockets exceeding expectations?
Dash replied to YugoRocketsFan's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
Its too bad that we usually dig ourselves in too big of a hole before that last phase. Rockets were 18-6 since the ASG last season but still missed the playoffs. -

The 2012 Royal Rumble Match: Chris Jericho WWE Championship Match: CM Punk © vs. Dolph Ziggler (John Laurinaitis will be the special guest referee.) World Heavyweight Championship - Steel Cage Match: Daniel Bryan © vs. Mark Henry vs. Big Show John Cena vs. Kane Hoping this angle with Kane isn't just some "overcoming the hate" BS and eventually leads to a Cena heel turn at WM.
