Houston is a BIG market (4th largest in country) and its been noted before that players do like the city and the management here, so the appeal is there but it hasn't been enough lately. Love the bit on Dalembert taking a worse contract to come play here. I'm guessing the two stars Morey was talking about would be Deron Williams and Dwight Howard since Chris Paul picked up his option, again highly unlikely but Houston has the market and the role players that might appeal to one or both of them.

Yep.

Congrats BFT.

The problem is we don't get to sign Nene after getting Pau, but at least we get our cornerstone guy.
-
Beasley faded away in the fourth quarter and took a couple of bad shots, he was getting hammered for it on Twitter but overall I thought he did a decent job. Minnesota doesn't have another player that can create their own shot off iso's besides maybe Derrick Williams (I can't recall many plays for him with the ball in his hands, mostly spoon fed by Rubio but that isn't exactly a bad thing. D-Will was definitely Rubio's favorite target) although he does need to be more aggressive and try to get the free throw line.

In defense of Martin, McHale's offensive playbook was rather flat but he's only had about 2 weeks with the team so its understandable. Rockets are at a huge disadvantage here with a new coach who is coaching in his first full NBA season. On Dalembert, he made a bigger impact than I thought he would and Jordan Hill was once again impressive at center. Like the rotation we have up front, no Thabeet tonight but Morey did say he wants him out there for 5-10 minutes a game.

Welcome to the site.

Impressive win by the Spurs. I get that this is a younger team but I'm worried about how Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan hold up in this shortened season. Duncan will probably sit out the back-to-back-to-backs but its still a rigorous schedule.
-
1. Lebron James 2. Dwayne Wade 3. Dwight Howard 4. Chris Paul 5. Kevin Durant
-
Terrence Williams could seriously develop into an all-star if he keeps being this aggressive, him and Scola were the only bright spots for the Rockets tonight. Martin was awful.
-
Love this team, they lost but it was nice to see Minnesota team play competitive with a new coach and core players. Looking forward to more Minnesota Timberwolves basketball. As I've said before, I don't think the Wolves pick the Hornets have will be all that great as Minnesota could make a strong push for the playoffs.

WWE has two choices here: 1. They put the title back on Cena, get their mediocre rating back and in 2-3 years later find out they are [expletive]ED with no one to take Cena's place. or 2. They take a chance and keep the title on Punk, feud him with a credible heel like Jericho (if he signs) until Wrestlemania, continue to develop their new and younger talent into established main eventers. Ratings will probably suck but maybe in about a year when the transition from the PG era to whatever we're going to get era is complete, and Punk is established as the top face with Cena/Barrett as top heels along with oodles of new main eventers, finally will things begin to look up.
-
Rhodes is decent but he's not an established main event heel yet. Most of the WWE fanbase are actually adult males (which is why I never got why they target kids) but kids do make a big part of it, which is why ratings will always plummet when a face besides Cena holds the title. Agreed with the rest of your post. Maybe but only If they keep going forward with this potential new era we could have with Punk, etc.
-
Ziggler isn't ready for a title push yet but I wouldn't mind seeing him and Punk duke out a few more matches on Raw. Honestly though there are ONLY 4 credible heels in the WWE: John Cena Triple H Wade Barrett (anyone who watched the Nexus stable at its height know Wade can help carry a show as a top heel) Chris Jericho Two are faces Vince refuses to turn, one is in Smackdown and was buried for no reason but he is slowly coming back with his fued with Orton, and last still hasn't officially signed.
-
Pair Punk up with a CREDIBLE heel and ratings might actually go up just like they did during Punk's fued with Cena. Granted Cena was supposed to be the face but might as well have been the heel with the majority of crowd behind Punk. What I don't get is why Del Rio is even in the main event picture now, they should have gotten the hint that nobody cares about him. Jericho needs to come back already.

http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/247049-report-cm-punk-in-danger-of-losing-title-due-to-poor-ratings Terrible if this is true, Punk has been solid. Its not his fault the booking has been garbage lately, WWE can't honestly think that ratings will go back up with Miz or Del Rio as champion. This is transitional period, ratings are supposed to be down.

Good move for both sides. Figured Utah could get more value for Okur but they do get a big trade exception that can come handy in the future, and they open up some more playing time for Kanter (although I don't think he's ready for big minutes yet but hey might as well if you're rebuilding/tanking).

East 1. Miami Heat 2. Chicago Bulls 3. Boston Celtics 4. New York Knicks 5. Indiana Pacers 6. Atlanta Hawks 7. New Jersey Nets 8. Orlando Magic West 1. Dallas Mavericks 2. Oklahoma City Thunder 3. Los Angeles Clippers 4. Memphis Grizzlies 5. Los Angeles Lakers 6. San Antonio Spurs 7. Portland Trailblazers 8. Houston Rockets I would prefer if the Rockets would just rebuild but I can definitely see Houston making the playoffs this year, teams with depth have a huge advantage going into the season and the Rockets have a ton of it. Not sure why so many people have Denver making it, Martin/Chandler/Smith won't be back with the team till March.

A few thoughts from this game: -Marcus Morris is a beast plain and simple. His turnaround jumper is deadly and he was getting buckets inside the paint with ease and he has an OUTSIDE game, he drained a three early in the game and nearly hit a second one. He's showing that he can play the 3 spot well. -Flynn dribbles way too much but he's great in transition, I'd like to see a run and gun lineup with Flynn/T-Will/Hill. -Terrence Williams has potential and he's been showing it off in the first two games, great passing skills/instincts and he's ALWAYS out running on the break and finishing around the rim. My pick for the Rockets' breakout player this year. -Jordan Hill is showing improvement again, think he might give Dalembert a run for the starting job although Hill is better suited to come off the bench (not because Dalembert is better but his game compliments the run and gun style we have with our youngins better). -I hope Jeremy Lin makes the roster, he almost won us the game when we were down 10 with 3 minutes to go and made the game tying bucket. Didn't know he had such a great defensive game either.
-
I would have preferred it just so we could tank, after failing to make anything happen during free agency I was kind of hoping we would finally rebuild but I guess not. Getting real sick of finishing 9th every year. West got better this year and we didn't.
-
Its a great contract but I'm sick of being a treadmill team.

Stein: Nuggets Sign Afflalo to 5 Year, $43M Deal
Dash replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Denver Nuggets Team Forum
He's an excellent role player but not worth $8+ million a year. The Nuggets desperately did need to bring back one of their free agents though. -

Damn I feel horrible for Chuck, he worked his ass off for years and finally got a decent contract and then this happens.
