I think its a combination of both, Boozer isn't looking so hot after a disappointing performance in the playoffs and Scola gets paid significantly less and the last year of his deal is partially guaranteed to boot. Still the Bulls are going to have to add a piece or two if they want to entice Houston and is that really the right move to make when you're trying to compete for a championship?

I've said it before, the Rockets have absolutely no use for the amnesty provision because there just isn't anyone on the roster worth cutting nor does anyone have that bad of a contract. So what if the Rockets are using their amnesty provision as an asset? Boozer's value is at an all-time low and Luis Scola has proven to be a more productive player at a more reasonable contract, so the Rockets could try to squeeze an asset or two out of the Bulls to make the deal happen and then follow it up by cutting Boozer. Two things that come to mind are Omer Asik, who has been linked to Houston during the trade deadline and draft night, and the Bobcats' 2012 first round pick. The issue with this trade would be whether or not the Rockets will be allowed to amnesty cut Boozer since they would be acquiring after the new CBA deal was signed, and from what BFT said in another thread it isn't likely that this will be allowed. However, this is the only way I could see Houston even consider trading for Boozer. Thoughts?

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/11/28/dalembert-considering-heat-knicks-rockets/ Could be a decent signing if they can nab him with the "mini MLE". As for Houston being mentioned in the article, I'm pretty sure we're not interested.

Texans worked out Jeff Garcia last week and they opted for Kellen Clemens over him. Jake Delhomme and Patrick Ramsey are a couple other free agent options we could give look. Edit: and I wasn't trying to knock on Yates either, I loved what I saw from him early on and he could have done better with a few reps but like you said he's just not ready yet.
-
Yates has excellent field vision and his IQ is well above what you'd expect from a rookie QB, but there is no way he's ready to lead an 8-3 football team. I honestly don't care who we get just as long as we sign SOMEBODY besides Kellen Clemens. I don't see any problem with at least giving a call to Favre and seeing what shape he's in etc.

Yep, with a broken collarbone. Brett Favre please.

Sheridan reports that there will be an amnesty. Pointless for teams like the Rockets/Thunder but whatever. -

^ I love how every match is very losable, I can be dominating most of the time and then Brock Lesnar can randomly drop me with a F-5 and take it. I used to struggle with this a lot in my first few days playing this game but I'm getting the hang of it now. Anyways what does your universe mode look like? My mine is: Raw 1. CM Punk - WWE Champion (babyface) 2. Brock Lesnar (heel) 3. The Miz (face) 4. Randy Orton (face) 5. Wade Barrett/Cody Rhodes/Dolph Ziggler (all heels) Forgot who my US Champion is. Smackdown 1. The Rock - World Heavyweight Champion (face) 2. Undertaker (face) 3. Stone Cold (face) 4. Triple H (heel) 5. John Cena (heel) Intercontinental Champion: Daniel Bryan (face) Divas Champion: Beth Phoenix? (heel?) Tag Team Champions: Big Show & Kane
