Connecticut elementary school shooting
Dash replied to Real Deal's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2012/12/14/nine-facts-about-guns-and-mass-shootings-in-the-united-states/ Regardless of which case is the majority, if you could even reduce the number of mass shootings from say 61 to 55 with stricter laws...how is that not an option worth exploring? -
Love isn't going anywhere with 3 more years on his deal.

Meh I literally couldn't care less for what the ratings were. Mercenaries was good and the campaign/co-op was enjoyable (for me at least).

GTFO. This game was great.

http://www.nba.com/2012/news/12/13/2013-all-star-ballot-update-1/?ls=iref:nbahpt3a Lin has more than twice the amount of votes Westbrook has. Ridiculous.

Bargnani Criticized By Teammates in Team Meeting
Dash replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
So Lowry is still a ballhog? So glad we moved him in the offseason, I was shocked his trade value was so high and people thought him to be an All-Star type player even after playing like trash after that epic 20 game span last year and then getting benched for his backup (given Dragic was playing some awesome ball though). I mean I'm not trying to bag on the guy but I never understood why he was getting so much praise even when he was on the Rockets. Granted I haven't watched many Raptors games but this thread feels reminiscent of my complaints about him last year. -
Just Exactly How Bad Are The Raptors?
Dash replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
I feel so bad for you guys. I'm sorry. -
Yeah, given that you're a Cavs fan I'm a bit surprised that you didn't at least include the Raptors pick. Varejao's value is sky high right now.

Kevin Love on the block?
Dash replied to magicbalala245's topic in Minnesota Timberwolves Team Forum
Misleading title, how is being uncertain of his relationship/future with the team mean he's on the trade block? He's locked in for around 3 more years now, plenty of time to put a contender around him and the team is still very young led by a HoF coach. -
This seems reminiscent of the Packers game. Horrible. At least we might finally get on the board.

Sorry for the late reply but to put it lightly, I despised both books. AFFC and ADWD were meant to be one book but God knows what was going on in Martin's head and AFFC was essentially an entire book on the lesser important characters. It was only 600 pages but it was mostly crap aside from one or two POVs. Literally I could sum up what happens to each character in the book in just 2 sentences. No need for this book at all. I did like that a certain new POV made things pretty entertaining, won't say who though. ADWD was 1,000 pages of setting shit up and introducing pointless POVs that only annoyed you. Really I can't think of anything that significant that happens other than near the end of Dany's POV in the book, but I can't think of any sane person that even cares about her or Meereen at this point or even want to torture themselves into reading her chapters. Something pretty big does happen in Westeros too but when I read it, I just wasn't shocked at all. Basically they should have just been one book and could have cut A LOT of unneeded shit out to make it a more enjoyable read. I'm probably being too harsh here but I'm going to give GRRM some serious credit for setting up the 6th book beautifully. We're pretty much guaranteed an epic 6th and 7th book unless GRRM somehow [expletive]s up bad.

Yeah, I hear its impossible to get a good grade in physics without some cheating. In high school, everyone cheated in just about everything especially the kids in the AP classes and even our valedictorian. I never took physics either in high school, didn't want to stress myself out in my senior year and I'm not required to take it for my major (thank god).
-
Looks like Lin is transitioning back to being awful. Nothing good came out of this game it seems like aside from Harden and Terrence Jones.
-
I know a lot of people that take physics right now and I keep hearing about how everyone flat out cheats. Professor doesn't seem to care.

Welcome back man.

Hornets To Change Nickname To Pelicans
Dash replied to The Regime's topic in New Orleans Pelicans Team Forum
Thunder I got used to but everything about this (logo, team name, jersey) is just [expletive]ing awful. -
What the [expletive]

Both are shooting the ball horribly so if I had to pick, I'd rather go with the guy who rebounds nearly twice as much and plays slightly better defense so...player B.

How Valuable is OKC's Raptors Pick?
Dash replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Oklahoma City Thunder Team Forum
If they want to go all in for this year, trade it for a big but ultimately I think OKC is going to hang based on 1) Presti's draft history, 2) the fact that whoever they draft will be on the payroll for merely $3-$4 million for 4 years and 3) the Thunder are clearly not a big spending team or else they wouldn't have done the Harden deal. IF that pick were to be dealt, it would have to be someone under contract for at least a few more years (if the Harden deal is any indication, its that OKC won't dig very deep into their pockets for an extension) and be signed to a moderate contract. Anderson Varejao isn't likely but if he were to become available...that would be interesting, he's earning just $8.4 million this year and locked up until 2015 (assuming his team option for 2014-2015 is picked up). -
This league is such a joke, I don't know why I even bother anymore.

Didn't get to watch the game but not too surprising that we got blown out on the road as Houston never had a chance to win this game. No Chandler Parsons tonight and the team just played a game last night and then immediately flew to Minnesota for Sasha McHale's funeral, can't imagine there was much time to rest or practice. No Parsons or even Delfino meant the Thunder could just zero in on Harden/Lin (3-16 night for Harden, but he did get to the line for 11 free throws) and that would be it for us.

Experience!

I don't see any reason for either team to do this deal. LA won't go for it for obvious reasons and for Toronto they give up potential cap flexibility (Calderon's expiring and Bargnani amnesty as mentioned earlier in this thread) and take on Pau's albatross contract. He does expire in a year but Toronto would have to be nuts to not take advantage of Lowry's extremely cheap contract before it expires the following season, and be a major player in terms of cap room this upcoming free agency. And what does this really do for the Raptors? Risk potentially significant cap room along with sacrificing the team's future for what, a shot at one of the final playoff spots? Keep their pick owed to OKC from being in the top 5 (if I'm a Raptors fan I hope BC doesn't make a knee jerk move in spite of this)?

Time flies too fast now. I can remember one day just minding my own damn business playing Skyrim (main story, when you infiltrate some party) and then getting the call that my sister just gave birth. Yesterday just threw my nephew a huge first birthday (sister's apartment way too small). Annoying to clean up after all those kids but pretty sweet week, having Thanksgiving and then catching up with my childhood friends and some family (some of which have kids now too, which is just crazy to me) during the party. I could get used to this every year lol.

Kevin McHale's daughter, 22, passes away
Dash replied to Real Deal's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
Very sad news, 22 is too young and no parent should ever have to bury their child. McHale took a leave of absence a few weeks ago when he heard she was ill and earlier this week there was word her condition was improving... RIP.
