James Harden traded to the Rockets
Dash replied to AboveLegit's topic in Oklahoma City Thunder Team Forum
Toronto was obviously being sent out and no hard loss from the Mavericks pick (its top 20 protected). Really surprised Houston managed to hold onto their own future picks. -

Who Makes Their First All-Star Team This Season?
Dash replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in General NBA Discussion
Yeah Lin went to China over the offseason and its safe to say that he was pretty huge over there. Doubtful he will deserve it but he's got a good chance to make the All-Star Game as one of the reserves if he can put together a solid season. McHale has to have Lin in attack mode though, I haven't watched a whole lot of the preseason but from what I've seen it felt like Jeremy was being held back and playing much more conservative as opposed to his days in New York. It might be just because its preseason that the Rockets are utilizing him like that but either way hopefully he's given more freedom once the season starts and the team makes more use of the high pick and roll with him and Asik (nonexistent in the preseason). -
FWIW 343 took over Reach a few years back (and made the no bloom patch, etc) and I think they also made the anniversary edition.

Not that hyped for it really but my brother is pretty big on Halo and already pre-ordered it. Good thing too because Bungie is pretty much garbage now. IIRC one of the developers for Halo 1 & 2 is spearheading this or something like that.

Rockets Coaches: Lin Needs to Work Harder
Dash replied to NomarFachix's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
Well he could actually be hurt. Either way its preseason and no reason to panic after one bad game. -
This team got completely exposed.

As far as recruiting goes, I'm going to pitch AboveLegit's idea from a couple of weeks ago because I honestly think that it could help somewhat. Instead of using the Twitter account to just post news that is typically a bit late compared to several sites, why not have a top poster (or Real Deal himself) take over and tweet opinions and shit? Honestly think the account could be a whole lot more successful if it wasn't run by a bot and did more than tweet outdated information. Posting with you guys is all fine and dandy but imo we badly need to get some new blood in here. Also would help if new members would actually...well, feel welcomed here.

Wtf is Kubiak doing?

White confirms in this report that the personal issue is related to his disorder: http://www.myfoxhouston.com/story/19707291/rookie-royce-white-not-with-rockets-for-opening-of-training-camp#ixzz28AXH0Y2k http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2012/10/rockets-rookie-royce-white-not-in-camp-did-not-travel-with-team/ Sucks losing one of our rookies to an indefinite amount of time already but wish him and his family well. Not like we're going anywhere anyways.

Picking this up on my way back from my exam. Probably won't be playing it tonight though because I ended up pulling an all-nighter so I might pass out the moment I get home.
-
Might be because he's one of the best basketball minds in the freaking league.

Saw this yesterday. Good stuff, he was way more open than I expected. A few of his other interesting answers:

Might catch some of the first quarter but then I have to get to work. Sucks I've been looking forward to this game for weeks.

Done.

Dreadful first quarter and a half, offense wasn't really getting anywhere and Tannehill was picking apart the defense. The turnovers really saved our asses because while the defense picked up significantly, the offense was still pretty flat. O-line needs to improve if we're going to be Super Bowl contenders.

Feels so unnatural getting up for class this early after spending most of summer sleeping in till like 2-3 pm.

Meh. We keep losing stars and then go through transfer window after transfer window without hardly spending much (in big club standards), whether Wenger is the reason behind it or not doesn't matter to me. What a frustrating time to be a fan.

Here's my beef with this matchup: how do the Miami Heat intend to "contain" Dwight Howard? I really think they screwed up by not by adding a strong defensive center such as Marcus Camby and opting for another shooter in Ray Allen. Not to say that Camby would turn the tide in an NBA Finals series but he certainly would have helped. I do think that this would make an intense 7 games series that really could go either way. As dominate as the Lakers look on paper, you can't count out any team that has the best player in the world by a wide margin.

And that deal is still a million times better than what Orlando got in return from the Lakers deal. Jeremy Lamb by himself (the article does note that the package had maybe two of the rookies so the Magic could also be getting Donatas Motiejunas along with Lamb or Terrence Jones) is the best piece the Magic could have received from both deals. Lets not forget that the Houston deal would also see the Rockets take back a bad contract from the Magic and not force Orlando to take on Al Harrington's contract. Anyways I believe this report is total BS, I haven't even heard of the reporter until I clicked the link thinking it was someone credible like Ken Berger. Hennigan and the Magic have been trying very hard since the deal was consummated to save face and discredit the Houston offer (really the reports on Houston's supposed deals recently scream damage control). Hard to dispute that anyone is more in the loop than Woj and his reported deal was: Dodged a bullet there.

Delfino Agrees To One-Year Deal With Rockets
Dash replied to The Regime's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
Waiting for the cap figures but I'm assuming its not too high considering there weren't many bidders for him. Nice pickup following the Olympics and we could really use a veteran presence in the locker room for the rookies particularly Jeremy Lamb (Martin is likely on the outs). Now that I think about it, we don't have a veteran big man with the most experienced being a third year player in Patrick Patterson. -
No talks were definitely serious, nothing out there discredits that. Hennigan turned down the Rockets' package for whatever reason.
-
A trade could have been agreed upon and then executed in late August. Houston had a trade on the table involving their rookies late in the Dwightmare but for whatever reason, Hennigan preferred the Afflalo package.

LAL/PHI/DEN/ORL 4-way discussions
Dash replied to NomarFachix's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Can't believe Hennigan turned that down in favor of the Laker four team deal but thank god he did because we would have been utterly screwed when Dwight walked.
