  2. I don't believe in god...........to me, (this is just my opinion) it's just for people who can't accept the nothingness that happens when they die. I would honestly love to believe that when we die we go up to heaven, or are reincarnated or whatever and live on, but I just find it too ridiculous to accept.
  3. I think it's pretty clear that a high pick in this draft would have cost us too much in terms of assets, otherwise I'm 99% sure we would have done it. IMO in a weak draft like this where even the top 3 picks have bust potential (D-Will and Kanter more so), trading an established player like Iguodala plus more is too much of a risk for a team that just made the playoffs. On another note, I'm starting to like Vucevic a little, and I think if he pans out, he can become a Marc Gasol type player rather than a Spencer Hawes type player. His athletic measurements at the combine are a concern, but the guy is huge and has long arms as well which will compensate some what. He's is far better shape than Hawes is and has a pretty decent sprint speed too.........he'll be more mobile than Spencer, but obviously he'll wont be Dwight Howard. I'll wait to see him play first against some of the more athletic big men in the league before judging how much his athletic liability will hold him back. Apparently we were close to trading Iguodala to move up to 10 because we were scared he might have been gone when our pick came up....combine that with the reaction in the control room from Thorn and Stef after we got him and it's pretty clear that management sees something in this guy.
  4. Lol.........who would you have rather had? This draft is a total crapshoot, there was no point wasting a proven player to move up and draft a player who is just as likely to be a bust than a role player (Biyombo etc). I don't know what you were expecting, but this draft was always going to be underwhelming in terms of talent.
  5. Nikola Vucevic was a pretty average pick, but what do you expect with the 16th pick in a weak draft. Don't think he'll be anything special, but I think at least he'll be better than Spencer Hawes. Doug seems to love him and his character and personality fits in with the type of team we're trying to build plus he has great his size and a nice jumper for a big man and can score in the post.....as long as he lives up to his supposed work ethic and continues to improve (which he has done ALOT over the past few years) then I think he'll be ok, but he might stuggle at first because of his complete lack of athleticism, but his size should help to make up for that while playing center.
  6. I wouldn't say both sides of the ball, he's shown little on the offensive end of the court in his years in the league- he has not jumpshot and doesn't really have a soft touch around the basket. He pretty much gets his points from either put backs or from drop offs/set ups from his teammates. He definitely has a lot of potential defensively though.
  7. Well to me, Manu is the clear cut 3rd best SG in the league after Kobe and Wade. He's more efficient, better shooter, better defender, better passer, better rebounder, I would much rather have the ball in his hands on my team than Ellis. Then I think it's a toss up between the rest depending on who you ask but personally I have Joe Johnson 4th, Monta 5th and then Gordon. I think a lot of the younger players (relative to how long they've been in the league, I know Monta is still young himself) like EG, Harden, Tyreke etc are all set to take a big step next year and could possible overtake Monta.
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lF4j4v4jtaA&feature=player_embedded Got to love Mark Cuban It takes the media all but 10 seconds to mention Lebron and Wade, it really is pretty sad.
  9. Lebron and Wade are the face of the league playing on the team with the most media focus (for obvious reasons). Everything they do will clearly be under far more scrutiny from the media than anything a role player like DeShawn Stevenson does. Also imo there is a thin line between having swagger/trash talking/trying to get under your opponents skin and just coming off as immature and naive, something the Heat's duo need to learn. Maybe not so much Wade, but when you listen to Lebron in an interview, he really is on his own planet.
  10. I'm not completely against trading for Monta...............at least we'd get a high pick in the ridiculously strong draft.
  11. "an impact veteran -- someone such as Pau Gasol, Monta Ellis or even JaVale McGee -- for the pick." one of these is not like the others....
  12. so nothing then? I was merely wondering why you think he's overrated, when the majority of people think he's a pretty damn decent player.
  13. and that opinion is based on what exactly? I'm guessing not much. Anyway don't like the trade, but we're obviously just gauging what the market is for Iguodala. It's pretty clear that we'd need something more like it says in one of the articles. I wouldn't be completely against a Kaman + Aminu for Dre, and would prefer that over the Monta deal.
  14. ......you have Eddie House standing up from the bench during every shot.......he is the king of useless scrub celebrations.
  15. He blew his chances last time by not accepting the role given to him by the coaching staff. I loved the old Allen Iverson....................but this one is just depressing, please just retire.
