Haha I keep forgetting we beat the Seahawks. Only reason is because Lynch got injured right before the game. The NFC West really isn't that bad. The Cardinals have a lot of young talent, and the Rams have just had too many injuries.

WK13: Baltimore at Cleveland
Cleveland's Finest replied to Real Deal's topic in NFL Gameday Archives
The last ten years, the Browns have been a complete joke to the outside world. Now, they are turning into a complete joke to the fans. The coach is unemotional. The President Mike Holmgren is non responsive to the fans. This type of management is not what a franchise like this needs. We need a personality, a voice. There's no West Coast offense, there's no getting Josh Cribbs involved on the offense, and there's no team chemistry. This Thursday will be another blow out, and I'm nervous that if Holmgren can't fix this, that the franchise could be gone. Makes me sick. -
Seattle and Arizona actually have outside shots if they can win out. If only Seattle beat Washington at home, they should be right in this. I think Atlanta will definitely be a wild card. As much as I want to see Seattle or Arizona make the other Wild Card, I see New York or Dallas (whichever team loses the division) being the other WC. Detroit has too tough a schedule, and Chicago cannot win with all the injuries. That's what I believe will happen, but I'm rooting for Atl, Sea, and Ariz. Hate the Cowboys...

Cavs reach out to Anthony Parker
Cleveland's Finest posted a topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
https://twitter.com/#!/PDcavsinsider I'd love to have him back. Especially if we trade either Baron or Antawn, we need some veterans on the team. Also, we still don't have a dependable shooting guard. Manny Harris needs to improve. We'll probably trade him to a contender anyways late in this season or next, so it'd be nice to see him stick around a little longer here. -
Chris Paul Requests Trade to Knicks
Cleveland's Finest replied to magicbalala245's topic in General NBA Discussion
He makes me sick. I remember when they took the Spurs to 7, and looked to have a bright future ahead. Now he's gonna leave them high and dry, just like the rest, to join two other guys just like him. Pathetic. He could've stayed committed to New Orleans, gotten more free agents to come, West would've stayed, etc...Now he'll leave em for whatever cheap deal the Knicks give them. Thankfully Kevin Durant has been a player we can look to for someone who wants a challenge and isn't looking for the easy way out. And so much for the NBA changing, the players are still in total control of their destination. Inmates running the asylum. -
College Basketball Gameday Discussion

Was lucky enough to be able to go to this game. First ever game I've seen at OSU, and it was great. DeShaun Thomas was the player of the game easily. This was the best game he's had here, and it was a great sign. Last year he didn't have as big of a role, and we need a lot more from him this year. He really came through for us. Also, Craft did a great job forcing turnovers and getting loose balls. Sullinger looked average against Plumlee, but we still came out with a big win so it's a great sign. -
Anyone get this yet? I got the pre-order from Gamestop but waiting to play until Thanksgiving break. So excited!

I don't know if many of you follow the MAC conference, but one of the the biggest rivalries is Akron/Kent State. To open the season, Akron had a victory at Mississippi State, and a week later, Kent State won at West Virginia. These two teams have been competing for a NCAA bid annually, and with each team getting a huge road win to open the season, I have high hopes for the MAC this year.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas Retires
Cleveland's Finest replied to AboveLegit's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
The comments in this thread are much more valid than the ones in the last thread I posted earlier this Summer when he announced he would be playing one more year. Definitely could have been a better ending if he stayed a Cav. -
We're 2-1!!! Our defense was great all game, and Colt McCoy had a great final drive to get the game-winning TD. MoMass had a great TD catch and all the youngsters stepped up to make some key catches down the stretch.

LeBron James new Mcdonald's commercial
Cleveland's Finest replied to magicbalala245's topic in General NBA Discussion
Well, he's always been right about LeBron, so no reason to hate on him for that. -
Well, the NBA is going into a totally new age, and we've seen it form the past few years. It's a sole emphasis on star power. Now there's "Big Threes" forming everywhere. Look at where all the big names have gone...besides Kevin Durant they've all gone to a big city or to join a star instead of staying with their team. For small markets, that isn't reassuring. The days of building around one great player (like what the Mavs have done) are over. I see your points about the past with the Jazz, Spurs, and even Cavs successes...but it's a new breed of athlete today...and NBA players of the future are going to most likely follow the same moves made by LeBron, Carmelo, etc...because they look up to them. For teams like Milwaukee or Minnesota, it's a big deal when they find a guy like Brandon Jennings or Kevin Love to produce. The fans are excited and hopeful but wonder if they will leave for a bigger city, or if they don't like playing for a losing team. But when teams like New York get Amare, all the talk is "Yeah, but who are they adding to play with him?" And even after they get Melo it's "Chauncey? Are you kidding me? I mean I'll settle for Parker but we better get Chris Paul."
-
It's not just these two...I heard on the radio that the owners from Milwaukee, Minnesota, and San Antonio are also supporting Gilbert and Sarver. And of course owners of teams like the Lakers and Knicks would oppose them because they like the league the way it is in that it gives them an advantage over small market teams.

Here's a gameplay video of a Celtics/Clippers game: The starting lineup intros, from what they showed, are pretty sick. The movements on the court look a little more realistic... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTPBCWheCXo

At first I thought Bosh was being fake on the show, but a few of his answers gave me some new found respect for him. He said Dirk is the best player in the league AND said that his teammates believe D-Wade is the closer. He did look a little silly in the first topic...it's all in good fun when Skip pokes at the players' names like that.

Who are the top five Cavaliers of all time?
Cleveland's Finest replied to Real Deal's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
Austin Carr had great talent, but I have to give Mark Price the nod just because he lead a few great 50 plus win seasons for the Cavs...Carr would be next followed by Daugherty. -
WK1: Cincinnati at Cleveland
Cleveland's Finest replied to Real Deal's topic in NFL Gameday Archives
That was an embarrassment. Went to the game...we were down 13-0 to start, and we had around 10 penalties in the 1st half. In the 2nd quarter we scored 2 TDs and led 14-13 at the half. That was the only quarter where we looked good. Cribbs had a few great returns to boost the offense. Ben Watson and MoMass caught some nice passes from Colt. Then the rest of the game we had zero offense but managed to have a 17-13 lead going into the fourth. Just when I thought we could finally win, on 3rd and long, Bruce Gradkowski threw a bomb to an uncovered A.J. Green. So we lost, and now I can only imagine what will happen next week at Indy. -
Very thoughtful RD.

Every year our fans hope we go 7-9, 8-8, or 9-7, and the last three years we've been garbage. Now we have some young players who made noise last year, with TJ Ward, Joe Haden, Peyton Hillis, and Colt McCoy. I like the veterans we have in Watson and Cribbs. One problem...we are favorites to win this weekend, and I'm very nervous that will be the death of us in this opener against the Bengals. I think we'll be better than last year, but I don't know if it will show in the win column. Gotta be a true fan though and hope for a Super Bowl.
