2011 Royal Rumble Thread
Cleveland's Finest replied to Cleveland's Finest's topic in MMA, Wrestling and Boxing Forum
The Hornswoggle thing was aimed for the child fan base...I mean I liked it at first, but it was a little overkill...if Cena eliminated him after letting him fool around a bit that would've been fitting. -
Are John Cena and Randy Orton switching feuds?
Cleveland's Finest replied to Dash's topic in MMA, Wrestling and Boxing Forum
I'm thinking it'll be Punk/Orton and Cena/Miz like you said, and then Edge/Del Rio for the Smackdown main event. Also, HHH/Sheamus, MITB, and a celebrity match....and something with the Corre. -

I was gonna go crazy if Santino run. I'm happy Cena and Orton didn't win, because it would be convenient, so it was nice to see a new guy win. What they did a bad job of was keeping the crowd out of it....they needed bigger names in the final four...the crowd already cheered for Orton. And Diesel/Booker needed more time...Diesel didn't even hit his power bomb. Oh well...overall solid rumble. -

LeBron James For MVP?
Cleveland's Finest replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in General NBA Discussion
He's averaging almost the same exact numbers....1 less assist, around 3 less points. Is he doing that much less work? This isn't the same Cavs team....LeBron didn't play with Alonzo Gee, Ryan Hollins, Ramon Sessions, Christian Eyenga, Manny Harris, etc...and Mo, Boobie, and Verajao have missed at least 30-40 games combined so far.....and also, Delonte, Z, and Shaq aren't on this team. Fact is, this is a totally different team. -
LeBron James For MVP?
Cleveland's Finest replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in General NBA Discussion
Wade deserves it just as much as he does. But I don't think either deserve it as much as about 10-15 players I could mention who have a much higher degree of difficulty. -

NCAA Basketball Gameday Thread
Cleveland's Finest replied to Cobb's topic in General NCAA Discussion
That OSU/Northwestern game was a roller coaster ride. We had a 12 point lead in the 2nd half and blew it. Tie game...Northwestern has the ball with around 30-40 seconds left and Lighty somehow stole the ball...we had the ball....Sullinger gets fouled, only makes one free throw (shot terrible from the line tonight)...then Northwestern only has time for half court shot, misses, and we win. These games have been so close, but a win is a win is a win. -
If the Bulls traded for Stephen Jackson...
Cleveland's Finest replied to The Regime's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
Definetely...talent wise that's the most complete starting lineup in the league. I don't know how it would fare in reality, but if I were Bulls management I'd go for him. Jax is clutch and has intangibles. The perfect fit for SG. Anyone in that starting lineup could go for twenty on a given night. edit- If the Bobcats keep winning, I'd think MJ would keep Jackson...or at least he'd be harder to get. -
Denver at Cleveland
Cleveland's Finest replied to Real Deal's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
Despite all the animosity I've had against these players, I'm feeling some sympathy as this continues. It comes to a point where you can no longer kick the team while it's down. You see the players with their heads down as they walk out of the empty arena, and can't help but feel for them. -
Kobe is clutch? Think again
Cleveland's Finest replied to Multi-Billionaire's topic in General NBA Discussion
These are all regular season stats. What stats matter most? The stats in the playoffs...and by my count, I see Melo's been in the playoffs seven years, and gotten past once. LeBron's been in the playoffs five years and gotten past the ECF once. Kobe has been in the finals SIX times. If there's a regular season game against a lower-tier opponent coming down to the final minutes, give me LeBron or Carmelo. But in a heated, playoff intensity atmosphere with the season on the line and the physicality at its highest, give me Kobe. -
Here's the only matches I know of: 40 man Royal Rumble Edge vs. Dolph Ziggler Miz vs. Randy Orton Divas Tag Match I really hope they don't short change viewers and end the show a half hour early with such a short card. I think they'll have one match added. I don't have too much an opinion over having 40 men in the rumble. What I like most is that this year, there isn't a predictable winner. I'm also interested in seeing how the Corre/Nexus angle plays out in the Rumble. Anyone getting this?

The Heat's offense is so bad. It's worse than the Cavs last year because you have not one, but two guys on the court who will just stand there and let the shot clock run down until taking a contested shot. Impressed that the Knicks backed up Amare's talk. As much as dislike Spike Lee, I was happy to see the Knicks win tonight. It's always a good night when LeBron loses.

Fisher on his way out?

I thought this was Derek Fisher...I was like wtf... I thought they decided to stick with Fisher. I wanted them to so the Browns could sign Young. -

Holding the Pacers to 20 points or less the first three quarters, they set the tone to the game and kept the crowd out of it. Danny Granger was the only Pacer who brought his game, putting up a season-high 46 points. The rest of the players on Indiana, especially the bench, posed little threat. The Pacers had only 10 bench points. The team as a whole went 3-14 from three. The Cavs defense was suffocating the Pacers offense. It had 9 blocks and 7 steals. The offense, meanwhile, shot efficiently, going 35-71 from the field. Cleveland also went 21-22 from the free throw line. The Cavs were up 15-20 points throughout the whole game until the fourth quarter. The Pacers left their starters in while the Cavs rested all their starters. The final score is really a poor indication of the game this was. http://media.cleveland.com/startingblocks/photo/new-cavaliers-secondary-logojpg-3e1cc85a3e691cec_small.jpg Cavaliers Extra Post-Game Comments Byron Scott: "First of all, the defensive effort was superb tonight. Granger was hot, and got his points, but we made their offense one-dimensional and made adjustments throughout the game to keep it that way. Also, it's always helpful when you have these games because I can give our starters some extra rest. Now we have a couple of days to prepare for Boston." Irving: "It feels so good to have that first win. Our whole team put together a complete game and we didn't let our guard down. Coach Scott challenged us, and we responded." Game Notes - Samardo Samuels scored 9 points in the fourth quarter - Kyrie went from 10 to 7 to only 2 turnovers tonight in the first three games - The three free agents Pryzbilla, Young, and Weems have all payed dividends in the starting lineup. It got quiet quick a few minutes into the 4th. http://www.thinkinguncommon.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/gatorade_thumb.jpg Gatorade "That's G" Game Recap After a tough loss to New Jersey, the Cavs came out much more aware. However, the Nuggets, one of the most potent offenses, would not stop nailing shots from around the perimeter. The Cavs found themselves scoring 15 points in the first quarter for the second straight game. However, the 2nd quarter was very promising. The Cavs came out rolling. They were running the Nuggets back and forth down the court, forcing quick shots and running plays on the offensive end with much efficiency. The Cavs eventually took their first lead since the opening minutes when Sonny Weems jammed a dunk to the roar of the crowd. The Nuggets, however, managed to score in the final seconds to go into the half with the lead. The 2nd half started fairly well for Cleveland. The Cavs were up 56-51. However, the Nuggets went on a 9-0 run to take a 65-56 lead. The Cavs responded with the same aggression from the 2nd quarter to tie it up at 67 after Jamison got a lay up for the and one. Eventually the 4th quarter rolled around, and the Cavs were down 79-76. It was about as brutal as it gets. The Cavs couldn't strike at all, and the Nuggets kept pounding away on the offensive end to extend the lead. The final score wasn't close to indicating type of game this was. http://media.cleveland.com/startingblocks/photo/new-cavaliers-secondary-logojpg-3e1cc85a3e691cec_small.jpgCavaliers Extra Post-Game Comments Byron Scott: "We scored 10 more points, but you have to be able to score more when you play these offensive oriented teams. And during practice tomorrow, I'll make sure we hamper down on defense. Right now, we're giving up 113 points a game, and that's unacceptable." http://community.2ksports.com/community/storage/media/v/l4/l3955/m3958601.jpg Sonny Weems monster dunk gave the Cavs its first lead since the opening minutes. Game Notes - Jamison played more tonight, and put up 9 points - Joey Graham may have found himself out of the rotation, playing no minutes tonight - Sonny Weems is impressing Coach Scott -Irving and Sullinger are playing solid. They had a tough time handling their first close game of the season, but that will fade with time. Game 3: @ Indiana (10/30/11) -
