  1. Kyrie had 16 in the first, none in the 2nd, but that's fine because we extended the lead. Andy on pace for another outstanding game. The bench is playing better. Nice to see Samardo get some more playing time.
  2. My picks: Rockets - I think LA should have stuck with Bynum, so I didn't like their moves too much. Houston got Lin, Asik, and Harden, along with some nice picks. James Harden to Houston - Biggest rising star to move, and they got him locked up in Houston already. Louis Williams - He'll be similar to Jamal Crawford there, but more consistent, with more potential as well. Nets - Kind of a no brainer here. They will have the biggest improvement. Allen to Miami - I was shocked that he went here of all places.
  3. Most of these are from the primaries when they were running against Romney, so I really don't see the point.
  4. I really thought we had this. After being down at the half, we got the lead back and seemed to have control. Kyrie's sick basket to tie it with less than a second left was completely forgotten after Jennings nailed a three. Only positives are: Kyrie continues to come up clutch, Anderson could be making a serious run as an All-Star (Watch him play and you'll want him on your team), Gee and Waiters are scoring like we need them to. However, we'll never win if our bench is this bad. The bad news is, I don't see our bench getting better with the current guys. Luke Walton? Are you kidding me? Makes me think they want to tank at times... CJ Miles has been utterly disappointing this season. You wouldn't think it was the same player from Utah. Donald Sloan made some shots, but I'd rather see Jeremy Pargo at this point. Then there's Tyler Zeller, who has some huge adjustments to make. He looks too slow out there. Boobie Gibson is one of the best three point shooters in the league, and he's been knocking them down, but when he's surrounded by these other bench players, he won't get as many open looks. Only fixes they could make within the team is giving Samardo and Pargo more playing time. It's really frustrating because our starting five can give us a fighting chance. This might be the worst bench in NBA history.
  5. I think it'll be cool if they have a few more episodes and form a team of players.
  6. Excited to be able to finally watch the Cavs. This game will hopefully be close. I hope the players remember that Chicago embarrassed us every time we played them last season. Looking forward to see if Waiters can put up similar numbers, if Gee can have a better game, and if Andy can be as ruthless on the boards against a tough matchup in Noah.
  7. Oklahoma (-12.0) @ Iowa St. Michigan (-12.0) @ Minnesota Texas A&M (-7.0) @ Mississippi St. Syracuse @ Cincinnati (-4.0) TCU @ West Virginia (-6.5) Nebraska (-1.5) @ Michigan St. Penn St. (-3.5) @ Purdue Texas @ Texas Tech (-7.0) Clemson (-12.5) @ Duke Oregon (-8.5) @ USC Oklahoma St. @ Kansas St. (-9.0) Alabama (-9.0) @ LSU Arizona St. @ Oregon St. (-4.0) Arizona @ UCLA (-3.5) San Diego St. @ Boise St. (-14.5)
  8. Was it the princeton offense that was the problem? Or was it the free throw shooting? I think it was the latter. Dallas was impressive tonight.
  9. From the highlights I saw, Thompson looks much more physical. Varejao is stunning to watch. No other big man plays the way he does. Waiters looked confident. Only one game, but nonetheless a win is a win.
  10. http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/video/2012-13-cavaliers-video-intro This is SICK
  11. We have more than 2 picks for each of the next three drafts, as well as plenty of cap space so we are ore than equipped to add more talent. Even then, let's give Waiters and Zeller a chance before we come to conclusions.
  12. I think he'll average around 20-22 ppg and 6 assists for Houston his first year. He's got that point guard ability, so I see him getting a decent amount of assists because he'll have more chances to create with this team. You're right about teams defending him more since he's not on OKC so he may average 18-19. I think he'll be an all-star, but I'm not so sure he will be this year because of the team he's on. I think he's a top 5 shooting guard, maybe 3rd or 4th best. He's better than Joe Johnson but not as good as Kobe or Wade. There really aren't many true shooting guards in the NBA anymore, so he should be a top one for awhile. I really like Harden and Lin as a backcourt. I think they really balance out well. They can both attack and Harden can shoot the three. The best part is that they can play off each other. Harden was the best point guard on OKC, as Westbrook essentially played shooting guard (all he did was shoot).
  13. I'll say the Wolves. I don't think Sacramento or GSW have a shot, and it's too early to put in the Hornets in the discussion in Davis' first year. The Blazers and Suns don't have enough depth behind their core players, but they should compete. I really like what Houston has done, but it's only year one with Lin and Harden. So that leaves me with the Wolves. ESPN's magazine preview had them finishing third in the West, which baffles me. I'm not the biggest fan of Love, but this team is on the rise. Roy and Kirlenko gives them established veterans. Very good mix of talent so I'll go with them.
  14. Really excited to see how this Dallas team plays. I loved what they added this summer. Collison will be the new Barea for them, and Brand and Kaman give Dirk some great help in the front court. I predict Mayo to break out this year too.
  15. Hope to catch the end of this one. I think the Celtics will be a totally refreshed team this year. They have more depth and youth for the first time since they last reached the finals. I hope the Celtics are physical on Allen.
  16. Very excited. Unfortunately I won't be able to watch the game due to an untimely accounting exam. Coach Scott announced that Dion Waiters is starting at shooting guard, which is kind of a surprise as I thought it would be CJ Miles for sure. So our starting lineup is extremely young tonight (Irving/Waiters/Gee/Thompson/Varejao). It'd be really nice to start with a win, especially because we have a tough stretch coming up (Chicago at home then a 6 game road trip). Go Cavs!

  18. I get what you're saying with the clowns advising him, but he is at the age where you are held responsible for your decisions. Honestly, enough of the less money garbage. The ballpark amount is similar, so he's not a saint for that. Besides wearing a Yankee hat, he said, "I got a goal, and that's to bring a championship to Cleveland." He said that "Cleveland has an advantage" on Larry King. You can argue the claim that he downed his play in his final few games with Cleveland. While it'll never be known, the fact that it is something that has been brought up reflects poorly on him. By having The Decision, he made himself open to all of these accusations that people still discuss to this day. For Dwight and Melo, people in Denver or Orlando are just over them because they knew they wanted to leave. Cleveland fans are wondering "Why did he say all of those things and then have a show for this? What did he mean when he said he would bring a title here, or that Cleveland has an advantage?"
  19. This is obvious, even if it sounds bias coming from me. Dwight and Melo basically did the same thing; as bad as it is, you athletes do this all the time. No athlete has ever put on an actual show to pick where he's going, and been completely callous during it. As pathetic as Dwight and Melo were, they seemed human by showing their emotion and speaking their mind. Many other athletes have voiced opinions and left teams. LeBron did something no athlete has ever done and probably won't do again. There's no rhyme or reason to putting a 60 minute presentation on just to say the team you want to go to, especially when you know that a lot of people will literally hate you because of the manner in which you are letting everyone know.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fr8vOR6Gego&feature=plcp I don't know if anyone's seen these before, but he basically goes over each player in the game. The commentary is hysterical.
  21. Virginia Tech @ Clemson (-8.0) LSU (-3.5) @ Texas A&M Auburn @ Vanderbilt (-7.0) Stanford (-2.5) @ California N.C. State (-3.0) @ Maryland Michigan St. @ Michigan (-10.0) Nebraska (-6.5) @ Northwestern South Carolina @ Florida (-3.5) Texas Tech (-1.5) @ TCU Kansas St. @ West Virginia (-2.5) Cincinnati (-6.5) @ Toledo Florida St. (-21.0) @ Miami (FL) Penn St. @ Iowa (-3.0) Baylor @ Texas (-10.5) Washington @ Arizona (-8.0)
  22. It seems now all we want is to see all sorts of mega teams. Chris Paul goes to LAC and all we talk about is what'll happen when his contract expires. LeBron goes to Miami and all we talk about are potential locations for another movement. It's a sad state of affairs in the NBA. No longer is basketball the hot topic, it's how many jerseys one player can wear in his career. The world we live in demands so much quickness that no one is fine with one player staying with a team.
